Wireless charging is a CONVENIENCE that adds value to your phone. I have tilt chargers around the house. I can see notifications and easily pick up my phone and walk away. No plugging/unplugging/pugging/unplugging. A friend of mine keeps one at his office. He gets a meeting, just pick up the phone, walk out the door. Come back to office, easily place on the tilt charger and it' instantly charging/topping off while he does his work.

Yes, once you use wireless charging you don't want to give up the convenience. Sure you can plug in when needed, but stress on ports is one of the main causes of failure. Even Apple is finally adding Qi wireless charging to their new iPhone 8.

It's NOT nonsense. You NEED glass, ceramic or plastic back for Qi wireless charging. NOT stupid metal. So, what do you want -- glass, ceramic or plastic?

I've had Qi wireless charging on my last two phones, and I'm not giving it up. LG has added it back, Samsung never dropped it, even Apple is adding Qi wireless to their new iPhone 8. Motorola now makes you buy a "mod" for Qi wireless capability, which is stupid -- they previously had it built in.

Had anyone ever made a phone with both a glass back and also a removable battery?? Who?

Will LG be the first? Or does this mean the LG is ditching removable batteries?

Every complaint here about fragility is fully justified, I had hoped that V30 would be a v20 with maybe better backplate aesthetics (closer to oneplus). Apparently LG chose poorly.

If the samsung s7 active and s8 active remain a worldwide at&t exclusive (which is absurd), if motorola z2 force and z3 force remain a worldwide verizon exclusive (again absurd), then there truly is an unfulfilled global market for a drop resistant phone.

I dislike putting my beautiful axon 7 in a case, it just is ugly.

i think the wireless charging is not needed cuz ppl take their chargers wid them or carry a power bank. And one more thing. LG shud stop making new phones which are already awesome and focus on the previous models like the G4 and V10 which were awesome in their own ways cuz LG wouldn't be the company it was if it wasn't for those flagships.... they r forgotten and shud be updated to nougat cuz it's already been 8 months since V20 was released.

Hopefully, in a few years, they'll stop this glass back nonsense. A phone isn't a jewel to be put in a case immediately and only used that way, while minimizing interaction with the hazardous world. A phone should be "free" to be used daily without fear of sudden and instant destruction (drop a glass phone and it'll break). I'd rather have S7 active than S7 'flat', which I now carry in a protective case. But I can't, Active is "Exclusive" to a single US carrier. So I had to settle with an 'imitation' - a phone + a HUGE case.

jlk, 24 Jun 2017I am currently using a V10 and think it is a great but flaw... moreLG have lost me as a future customer. The V10 was a great phone... loved the aesthetics of the design. The steel side rails protected against some significant drops. All LG had to do was fix the bootloop problem by putting some decent heatsinking in place to stop the overheating - a better processor would have been great. The V20 while good still has issues, and shows how inconsistent LG can be in the design and implementation of thier products. The removable battery was the last straw for me, I need it for work every day (I currently have 4 for my V10 as I cannot always get to a charging point and am a heavy user of all aspects).
This move by LG to wireless charging, glass backs, no removable battery shows that they neither listen to, nor care about their customers. Like most phone manufacturers they're bloody clueless!
                          Reviewers take note!:
My next phone will be one that has ALL the features of the V10/20, but that also has the most easily replaceable battery - as most batteries need replacement every couple of years as they lose conditioning. So I'll be trawling the YouTube vids looking for battery replacement tutorials and seeing how easy it is to do.
                          I'm very disappointed in LG.

I agree, wireless charging is a FAD. The 2013 Nexus 7 had it but very few use it because it charges sooooo sloooow. It went out of style shortly after. Now that the new iphone is rumored to have it, the rest of the android world went gaga over it and it has experienced a resurgence in newly announced flagship phones. Unless it can match the charging speed of a regular charger (of which it is even slower), it just won't be a useful feature unless your phone has damaged usb charging port. It would be vastly more useful if phones with wireless charging add instead fm radio, ir blaster, and large batteries instead of stupid wireless charging that hasn't improved much since 2013.

This promises to be a real beast for power users, the V30 should be agressively marketed worldwide like Samsung does. LG makes some great devices.

Wish the designers would start to move away from glass back phones due to the slipperiness and do MATT backs. they look awesome when using dbrand skins so why not manufacture them that way to start with. Making them less fragile and finger print free too. Maybe on the V40 hey?

This is coming from a G5, V20, Pixel, S7 edge, and iPhone SE owner. Apple is too restrictive and overrated. Samsung is laggy, ugly skin, and curved display is a cosmetic gimmick.
