Wasnt the Note4 costing about $800 back then?? Today money depreciates so $1000 is not too much to ask for a technology packed phone like the Note8.

I pay $200 for a performance torchlight like the Nitecore TM03. There are many $10 torchlights but they cant compare a hair.

Oh boy com'on. This isn't something that was expected to be new, there are quite a good number of phones from 2016 that came out with 64GB as a base storage. I ain't Sammy's fanboy but I have been following Samsung Note series since its birth and that's the only Phablet I am impressed with. I hope Samsung does NOT mess with the hardware management like they did with Note 7. I don't get fanboys point when they simply rejoice whatever is thrown at them. Technological improvement between each generation is just 20-25% or sometimes even less. I came from Nexus 4 to Axon 7 in August 2016 which made me think that technology improved by a maximum 70% in terms of performance, GPU, features, accessibility etc. This makes me think that buying a new flagship from each generation is simply waste of money, I'm sure I make sense to a lot of ppl and not the fanboy clubs who are brain washed from OEMs. We want to see new technology, security, new interface from other OEMs rather than just slight improvement from previous generations.

Noel, 01 Jul 2017Hmmm $1000+...kidding right?? That seems kinda much but the... moreIt's the old adage you get what you pay for. You spend $12,000 on a cheap car, it breaks faster. You spend $500 on a TV and poof it's dead sooner. Samsung spends a lot of money in Research and Development. So they are within their rights to ask $1000 for a phone. Look at the 1 + 5, reports of the "jelly" screen and audio channels reversed. That phone is $450+ and it's junk already. I read the screens have been installed upside down. Which would cause the "jelly" effect. As for the audio channels reversed, wiring issues. I suspect a massive 1 + 5 recall soon! And they'll fold their tents afterwards.

Bet that note 64GB comes with 4 gig of ram and 128GB comes with 6 gig of ram hope no. Hope that Samsung get ride of Samsung bloatware that comes with note's line and make as fast as upcoming iPhone 8.

Hmmm $1000+...kidding right?? That seems kinda much but there are way many very good phones/Phablets for under $1000.
I hope Google doesn't make the same kind of price calculus with the Pixel XL2.
At this point i want to see what the Mate 10, V30, Pixel XL2, Axon 8, Mi Mix 2, Note 8 and any other surprise device will bring in terms of build quality, specs and price. Either way i am excited about the upcoming device lineup.

Due to less efficient CPU and screen substantial... morewith a decent ROM, Note 4 (F snapdgragon version) is certainly still OK, but it'd be a normal everyday phone. It's key advantage is the possibility to replace a worn-out battery (my 2nd one is on its last legs - the phone is approaching its 3rd year - and i got the 3rd battery already).

I'm looking for a faster, more power efficient and MORE COMPACT AND LIGHTER phone that would cost 400-500 EUR maximum, but at the moment Note 4 still does its job well. With this crazy, insane pricing, i think it will have to do it's job for longer.

No way i'm paying over 500 EUR for a phone.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2017Anyone with a brain wouldn't buy flagship at all unless it'... moreSo I guess those millons of people who bought a flagship phone has no brains huh? And those people who bought an expensive and branded car instead of a cheaper car has no brain according to you. What about those who bought a $300 watch instead of a $50 watch? Both of them share the same function right? But I guess those who bought the more expensive and HIGHER QUALITY watch are stupid too huh? What about the people who bought a branded clothe? Branded shoes? Expensive laptops? Expensive water bottles? But no, according to you, people who bought the BEST and HIGH QUALITY products from a HIGH BRAND name company have no brains and stupid. Smh.

Why not make the Note 8 available as a 64 GB and 256 GB of storage option instead? I wouldn't spend an extra $100 for just 64 GB extra storage, but I would gladly spend an extra $100 for 200 GB extra storage.
