Wow so many comments. Amoled is crap with fake colors. And not durable at all. Burn in issue is an example. LCD is much better.

Stop preaching nonsense. If the problem is of the range you are exaggerating then Samsung would have rectified the issues by now or If AMOLEDs get burned in within a year, then why Samsung continues to use them? Why Apple wants to use them in their upcoming phones? Even LG and Sony started using OLEDs in their high end TVs, if their lifetime is just one year then why Sony and LG will use them in TVs?

The difference is the were not trying to make it out that way. That it didn't happend to them so it doesn't happen. You were the one trying to name it out to be this huge thing that will absolutely happen. They just called you out

It's like saying the Note 7 doesn't catch fire just because yours didn't. Your unit is different from another person's, regardless if they're the same exact model.
And he was saying the right thing, and you're the one that needs to do some research or even inspect them in reality as well.
If it didn't happen to you, then lucky you are, but that's not to cover up what's really an issue here.

Really people........
IPS LCD is not a completely rubbish technology, and isn't completely dominated by AMOLED.
IPS LCD screens, especially the Quantum Dot from Sony and LG, offer some of the best blacks from an IPS screen. Sure it's not beating the AMOLED in that regards, but really, they get so dim enough that it can already fool you like it's an AMOLED screen technology.
And you're probably not going to view a 100% bright screen in dark lighting situations, are you?
Besides, IPS LCD screens even have better viewing angles. Sure they loose a bit of brightness, but they don't shift the color completely off like AMOLEDs would.
Try using the S8 and S8+ in reality, with the screen displaying a white content, then look at it at an angle and you will see some green hue on it.
Do the same for say the XZ Premium, and it will only loose a bit of brightness but retain the same exact color as it was showing you at the normal viewing angle.
People are so exaggerated with their screens, yet they don't know how good are they, or probably have never even tried them at all.

I've only owned AMOLED display phones since the Samsung Jet, before Samsung even made high end Android devices and I've never had one suffering from burn in or weakening colours. Not when I had a Nokia with their inferior displays they had in their early Lumia years.
Maybe stop taking your info from some RDF infected alternative facts forum and get a real life reality check instead? :)

I am typing this with my IPS LCD 720p screen phone while looking at it at near 180° and I can still see the true colors of the screen as I am viewing it at a normal viewing angle.

The only screen I've ever had problems with is a Mi Mix LCD... A dark patch that showed up on colours and greys. I doubt i will ever get another LCD phone because the washed out blacks are so poor compared with AMOLED.
