I am actually surprised that nobody cares about the practicality of a phone but cares about the looks alone. In the end, the design of the Xperia is more practical than their competitors.

      This isn't a 5.9" device.. its not way too thick at all.

        The xperia compacts have historically carried with them the notion of endurance. Hopefully this phone will be able to live up to the name.

            Way too thick for me. I understand the need for it so the battery can be decent, but personally I'd only consider the phone if they fit a ~4.8" 1080p screen in a similar sized body, and if it were at most 8.5mm thick. I bit more of a rounded design would be nice also.

                    Also a case is offering miles of better protection yet it uses much less space than those ... space bezels that sony is so fond off... Also doesn't look like an a$$ ... fanboys are funny.

Those bezels are from the paleolithic, making the phone fail from the get go. A phone that is hard to use due to the sharp edges and hard to store due to the gargantuan dimensions js a failed phone before even release.

                      I would never touch an xperia premium, not even with a 10 foot pole... ridiculous.

                          Slightly slimmer, slightly less wide than x compact, so better in hand.
                          Flagship specs and single metal frame back and sides.
                          Most complaints about the x compact solved, should be a great phone.
                          xz2 compact probably brings much higher screen to body ratio in a year.

                              V30 is just something else...

                                I dare the small bezel suckers to drop our phones sideways at pocket or waist height on a solid concrete.

                                Literally with no sort of protection to the whole device.
                                And when they pass the first test, I'll dare them to use the phone (that has curved edges) with screen protector.
