Anonymous, 21 Aug 2017You obviously don't grasp the reality of things. It has to ... moreOf course it doesn't. It is the perfect ploy to put other OEM's on the back-foot - twice! How many articles or posts did you read earlier in the year, that may have included the along the lines of "Outdated processor"? It was absolutely everywhere when the LG G6 was announced. The consumer is the one that loses out, because if they want the latest hardware, they don't get much of a choice. It's monopolisation of the highest standard, and it should be stamped out.

This is good news for phone manufacturers, because there's no need to rush, we've reached a point in phone technology where it's not about how fast of a processor you have or who has the most ram, its about enhancing usability of your phone and making it more "user friendly" that's why Apple will always hold a spot in the Top where technology is concerned. They're just adding water to a barrel that's already full and charging us more for it. That's why i got me a G6, cost me $400 bucks when the s8/s8 plus is average $600-800 for less than a 15% increase in performance. By then the price of the Snapdragon 835's should go down and next year we would have the G7 with almost stock android which would then be able to compete better against the S9/S9 plus with the 845's. Phone manufacturers need to start focusing on software and not hardware.

this is unfair!
But like a old-news saying i hope LG be the first to have 845 to put it on G7.
love to see sammycrappy lose clients all the time because people dont know what are buying when think in sammy.
but...oh mine, my hopes is V40 will be better and bring back some features that dissapear with V10. this V30 is a dissapointment.
for you sammy .|.

Qualcomm c... moreThink outside the box.
You make it seem like Qualcomm is the God of patents and the only source of chips.
If a company wants to build their own chip, they are not mandated to use Q's patents. They can start from scratch and make their own.
Q can be omitted completely and eventually be dead but that is unlikely to happen at least for the foreseeable future.

Then those who can't pick up a SD845 can simply pick up a Kirin 970 instead.
Just look at how the Kirin 960 of the P10 and P10 Plus performs against the latest SD835 devices - just insanely good.

If anything, I feel Samsung should even influence ARM to make chipsets Cortex processors to the Next level for the big.LITTLE.
Maybe most people aren't aware of this fact, but Samsung Kickstarter ARM's big.LITTLE processor architecture (which even Apple starred designing), by being the First processor manufacturer to use it.
ARM owes it to Samsung to manufacture chipsets Exclusively for Samsung, which should be better than anything else in the market.

AnonD-493391, 21 Aug 2017Shamesong turning flagship segment into a monopoly. No. Samsung is just on top and you can't seem to handle it. Instead because you like another brand or but into false claims you are hurt by it.
If is the same story as last year it's the same reason. Supply and demand. The just wasn't enough initial yields to supply everyone. With their devices being the highest in demand. And just about any other company would've done the same in their place. End of story.
Especially when they made it. Why would they make a chip that they couldn't even use to release with their own device when their device was in highest demand. And still not meat the demand of all other devices anyway?

If Samsung is the one with the 10nm tech for the Snapdragon 835 and 845 as well as the capacity to make and buy the majority of these chips, Samsung has every right to book chips well ahead of everyone else. If Snapdragon could manufacture it's own processors instead of making Samsung make them, maybe they could throw more of heir weight than they already are.
I hope Samsung pushes the SD845 with one version of 7nm at 3Ghz+. They need to collaborate with Snapdragon to ensure that their Flagships are better than everyone else around. Including Apple's, in the proc3ssor department. Also they should ensure their RAM and RAM management is way better than the competition.
I wish Samsung would also work on creating Exclusive Samsung Apps for Photo, Video, Music and Productivity EXCLUSIVE to Samsung Devices.

The Move will get more users to the Apple camp. Many of them wants a faster smartphone, we all know Samsung devices run double the services than any other brand in the background because they have google alternatives running along with the google services. The only thing they can option out is the iPhone , the reliability and the reason that it is much more faster than a Samsung Phone. Samsung does have this superb tech called TST , unfortunately Galaxy J2 2016 is the only device that actually makes use of it.

AnonD-13321, 21 Aug 2017Non-competitive practises to be expected from a horrible company.you clearly have no business sense, the fact is that samsung will bulk buy 10s of millions of these chips, all the other companies to use this chip probably couldn't match Samsung's order combined, if other manufacturers want the chip then they should just get to the table and negotiate earlier for a deal, you want to be on top in the android market you have think fast and plan ahead, i wouldn't be surprised if samsung are not already negotiating for Note9/S10/Note10
