HTC Sensation suffers from death grip, iPhone 4 caught snickering

Who holds their phone flat on there hand like that? That is not a death grip as the phone works fine well held like a normal person would hold a phone. Nearly all phones have some kind of signal drop when you hold them in certain ways.
I havnt tried to reproduce this yet on my sensation (as no wifi networks near me) but i cannot drop phone signal no matter how i hold it.

from picture i suppose both antenae are connected to radio chips with some pins... that is ... not very clever. i have two HTC devices and honestly i like the older one more.

Folks in the UK were among the first to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S2 earlier this month. Initially, the reception was obvious, “fantastic device!”
However, recently it has come to our attention that the Galaxy S2′s display is not as good as we thought. Although the display is beautiful from the outside, many users from XDA-Developers Forum have confirmed a mustard stain-like color, a yellow tint on the leftmost quarter of the lower half of the screen; it is most visible at the lowest brightness settings. That can’t be good.
Yet, not every Galaxy S2 owner has encountered this problem. There have been numerous of lucky reports. It was thought that the yellow tint may have been a similar process like that found on Apple’s iPhone. However, many technology media outlets like Engadget and GSMArena confirm that something is “seriously” not right in the picture.

so looking on video it looks like it has less strength signal when not in hand. iphone was dead in hand.
anyway video does not show dead grip. wifi it self such a system without strength signal. my wifi card on desktop pc changing it every second from 60% to 100%, from -74dBm to -60dBm.
speaking of networks that disappear time to time. not all routers allowing polling every second

all are losers HTC Sensation and Iphone 4 have Antennagate isssue. Galaxy SII has yellow spots issue and cheap material build. These highend droids have their weaknesses as well how poor

The N8 really does have a fantastic camera that not many can beat.

The Galaxy S2 is a newer phone while the N8 is from last year, comparing them is fine but not really accurate. I mentioned the Galaxy S because its the same model run as the N8 and also a phone that I've used extensively. And who ever said I was a die-hard Nokia fan? I just happen to own a Nokia N8 because I was interested in what the camera is capable of. Its the first Nokia I've had in years!!! The Android market is huge but from what I've seen a great deal of them are malicious apps that even Google has admitted the need to police it a bit more. As for being a "fan" of something... I'm an Apple fan if you must know... but my carrier does not have the iPhone or I'd have that. My N8 is no more laggy than Android was on the Samsung. And if you are referring to the home screen switching - its not designed to switch the way it is in iOS and Android, at least not in the current version running on the N8. Nokia has extended support for Symbian till at least 2016 according to an article on here last week. And trust me - I get more than you think. If you've never experienced how awesome the camera is on the N8 then you really have no room to compare. I also used the SE Vivaz's awesome 8mp camera. Its great but still not as good as the N8. The N8 is last years flagship and it still beats out most of the field in this area. And not too many phones can zoom while recording video and still maintain full 720p. And sorry but there is no need to sit there and be childish and insult anyone on here. I just didn't see the need to be attacking the N8 since this article was NOT about the Nokia N8. Its about the HTC. I just rose to defend the N8 because I owned one and felt that you did not give it the credit it deserves.

it seems you still does have a hangover to the so past megapixel battle.and FYI. nokia's ovi store is none compare to android market. you are such a die hard nokia fan. well then the price will be paid after nokia wont support ur n8 anymore after the windows phone 7 release. and by the way, the Samsung Galaxy s2's 8mp snapper is made by canon.is ur carl zeiss a maker of dslr? i guess not!tthink twice. ur n8 is a monster laggy

Wow.... I own a htc and i have the same issue, BUT, and me stress that to all you people out there, is is JUST SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING! thats it!!
HTC have programmed their phones to drop a weaker signal, they probably werent happy with the performance on a weaker signal, battery drain and all that blah blah blah.
And we are getting our bootloaders unlocked, so there is really no issue there at all either.
The way that I see it, phones, manufacturers n all that is PERSONAL preference, so stop thinking that your sh*t is made from gold, because the way the market is moving, by the end of this year quad-core pro's will be out and a Dual-core will be obsolete.
Get over yourselves and grow up

Lol, who holds their phone flat in their palm anyway in portrait. Show us in landscape mode. But I bet you have to hold it flat again to make it drop off. This isn't anywhere near as critical as the iPhone issue. If it were anywhere near as bad it would have surfaced much earlier. The videos don't prove squat, still gonna consider the sensation when my contract is up.

When they pick up windows 7 I will consider them. Nokias sound great on the spec sheet, although in real world use against all functions of a smartphone, is so below par its not funny. Get a real phone and give the N8 to your gran. If you want a phone that makes calls and is built to last, get a Nokia 1100.

Restarting, Sync issues, can't turn off wifi, browser crashes with complex sites, slow and laggy compared to most phones, stupid layout for settings which can be found all over the OS and not in logical places (ie, one place for all settings). And yes this is not relevant to the post, but have to say N8 is a flop

Actually the plastic cover does not serve as an antenna the antenna is a simple foil stretched over the plastic and is contacted through the pins visible in the image, the point is plastic also does not interfere with RF signals for signals in the range of 2.4 GHz (blue tooth and WIFI) plastic is transparent it is the sodium in our flesh and calcium in our bones that blocks the signal, in short i think a plastic cover will work somehow

I have had a lot of phones go through my hands because I'm a new and used phones dealer. I've had dozens of HTCs, Nokias, SEs, Samsungs, LGs and all Apple iPhones. My experience tells me that as far as reliability goes, in total, Nokia phones are by far the best phones. The fact is that roughly 75% of people doesn't know how to use a smartphone properly. They talk for ex. about Nokias hanging, I have had lots of Nokias and with each and every unit I faced no frequent hanging at all.
As for HTC, that company is creative, software and design are good, but they r careless about hardware details, which leads to flaws like these. There is quite a number of HTCs with factory flaws, like Desire HD, where wi-fi and GSM signal may worsen a lot if not held right. Seems same goes for Sensation. And also same goes for Hd7 and Wlidfire and a few more models.
