And people say Apple is slow.
People whining about wanting a new design every year should look at Apple's entire portfolio. The MacBooks and iPads haven't changed much the last 7-10+ years. You can only do much with a rectangular shape. It isn't like people complain about bezels on TVs and desktop displays.

If Sony would do an 18:9 bezel less phone with dual front stereo speakers and a 1/3.06" 13mp AF front camera, then they have just killed the competition once again. And even if Sony ever moves to bezel less, they'll make sure that what they're doing is safe and the quality of the device will be top-notch and not being rushed like Samsung or LG, which is what takes them time before developing something, but better be late than never, especially when that 'late' thing is the actual winner of all.

Sony was all about durability, now hearing that they will switch from omnibalance to the bezel-less pornstar design. Sony shouldn't listen to Samsung fans, not everything should look like Samsung. If you want bezeless go Samsung, LG, Xiaomi or that iPhone X. Not everyone like bezel-less display and that's because bezels were designed for grip protection where bezel-less display lacks the most. Would anyone call iPhone X a gaming device? No because it has no bezels to hold on to.

The standar... moreBecause 16:9 is not the standard for movies. The standard for movies is 2.39:1, or 21.51:9. So 18:9 is somewhere in the middle between the HDTV 16:9 and the cinematic 2.39:1.

Give side bezels like xa1+ (has fps on the side), halve the top and bottom bezels and keep stereo speakers. 18:9 is alright but wouldn't want to see device height increase. Add OIS, improved and always on HDR, louder audio and larger battery's (compact and xa1+ have enough already) and they'll have an amazing high end lineup.

Go back to z2/z5 style speaker slits, reduce top/bottom bezels as much as possible, keep the overall design. That's it. Much updated look and still have signature Sony look which I love.

hope they design better than have been xperia used to be name people would be waiting to buy now its just a mediocre high price brand that never brings quite enough to the table, come on sony bring back the glory days of the xperia mobiles add something special to your range toppers
