Funny coincidence is...both are most selling brands.

MG7, 28 Sep 2017I showed my suspicions before on a11 high benchmarks: http... more1) in this case, benchmarks on different platforms can only be directly comparable in terms of raw power, for example A11 Bionic beats Intel 15W ULV laptop CPUs in benchmarks (and theoretically they are faster), but practically, being made on a different architecture (ARM vs x86-64), Intel CPUs can't run Android without emulation (which consumes valuable resources) and Apple SOCs can't run Windows without emulation (same thing), so
you can't really compare mobile SOCs with computer CPUs until there will be a unified OS
          2) no, benchmarks help us make an idea about the system's capabilities, they just show how much performance a device has when its hardware is used 100%, which isn't the case 99% of time, A11 Bionic may blow away Snapdragon 835 in terms of CPU horsepower, but app/OS optimizations have a bigger role in the overall speed of a device.

DAMN, this is the first time in the history of speed tests when an android phone beats the new iphone in the month it is released, not half an year later with the new gen SOCs, wtf is the laptop-grade CPU in A11 Bionic doing?! Can't wait for Pixel 2 to crush iPhone 8+/10 even harder. :)

Why are these "tests" still going? I don't really care how fast a phone is these days. All flagships are blazing fast for a year or two until they want you to buy the new one. What I care about how fast it's going to charge and discharge, if it's going to die if I drop it or if it's going to scratch easily.

I put my Note animation to 1x or 1.5x, things feels really fluid but the moment i go to 0.5x you can feel sometimes things doesn't respond instantly.

All these tests are useless, because each os have a way to manage programs with hardware, just tests for fanboys to boast their best devices. A correct test must be implemented with each os on a device with the same settings, and result must be noted for the hardware who perform better with each os.

There is definetly something weird with the iPhone 8 performance, it gets beaten by its older version, the iPhone 7. On paper the 8 should be faster and according to benchmarks it is but not in real applications and it can’t keep apps in memory as good as the 7 either:
                          https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=P_00J9Tzs-8

As it is now I would say that iPhone 7 is still the fastest iPhone.

Can you also try it with the Galaxy Note 8 exynos edition

I wonder when people realize that amount of memory and cpu is not everything, there is also something called "resolution" and it doesnt matter only in games and battery. It have huge impact in everyday usage, even using browser or social media.
Note8 Need to deal with 2x more pixels than apple(4.2 millions vs 2 millions) this need lots of power to render even text on it...

Note 8 won only because a11 is don't work very well with iphone 8, if you compare iphone 7 with 8, iphone 7 is much faster. This problem with a11 is because of iphone x, the chip must be optimized for it's hardware first so apple don't manage to optimize it for 8/8+.
There should be an update in future for the processor to work proper on iphone 8

Android runs on multiple choosers in multiple configuration. Doesn't make sense doing that. This test was app based so obviously note was gonna win this one. Coming to daily use any phone with stock android or close to it is gonna be at par. Now even touchwiz is less bloated so yeah it won. Speed tests can be subjective too, you see. Also I'd rather render videos on 15.6 inch screen than a 5.6 one
