    There are quite a few things that I think Windows does better than Android even though Android is slowly catching up to those too. It'd be great to see an improved Windows OS for mobile devices rather than having Windows apps being developed for Android first. Microsoft will lose more of the little number of loyal fans left. I for one wish Microsoft would start caring about the little they have left because Windows, with some improvements can go neck to neck with Android.

              Still they were quite powerful, 808,1020 as only devices for easy 8K timelapse, also 4 haac in 950/XL still leads in audio capturing. Waiting for next gen., got bigger hopes for that, than for Sony.

                Mi6 which started from US$400 (the basic version) have BETTER overall hardware compared to Nokia 8, especially the camera, which resulted in BETTER overall imaging.

                As Nokia 8 camera output is inferior to LG G6, it's a better buy to just buy the last year G5 or V20 which is the last flagship phone which still offer the two now-forgotten features, removable batteries, and 3.5 mm jack.

                  That "tiles" idea of yours is the reason of your defeat in the smartphone race. "Tiles" icon looks very cheap. If you have adapted a different look and feel of your icons, then there might have a chance that you will remain in the race. The only thing that put you down is you "cheap-looking-tiles-icon" idea.

                      First thing first, let alone Windows 10, the Windows 7 which requires lower hardware requirement cannot run properly in Atom-powered Zenfone 2 which have x86 architecture, which uses CISC.

                      So, how in the hell can Windows 10 which have higher hardware requirements, and run in CISC able to run properly on RISC-based ARM SoC?

                      Moreover, Intel stopped ALL developments of Atom SoC, as it cannot run properly without its beast-like battery consumption (x86 architecture is widely known for its inefficient energy consumption, for years), let alone rival ARM in CPU & GPU performance.

                      Also, MANY people AROUND THE WORLD which uses Windows OS stayed at 7 or 8.1 as 10 is not worth a penny. Full of bugs with NEVER-ENDING patches which more than often brings another bugs to the table, who in their right mind would want that?

                      No, when talking about Microsoft, what people want are Windows desktop OS & its Office.
                      Windows Mobile/Windows Phone NEVER got people really interested in them, cuz MS knows WELL how to make CRAP OS with LIMITED features and NO 3rd party apps ever since Palm & Symbian eras

                            Lumia and the still pending suface phone is suddenly dead. Well. That escalated quickly. It was just last year or this year a microsoft powered phone was released.

                              [deleted post]Does Chrome OS have AAA games? Crysis, Metro series, Dota 2, Starcraft II, Overwatch, GTA V, etc? If they're able to re-release all of those games to Chrome OS and has better performance, I'll be glad to dual boot it unless Chrome OS has Vulkan (since DX12 is a Microsoft thing).

                                Phone-specific OS should be shutted down. They're working on unified OS, along with Windows on ARM.

                                I still see Surface phone coming in future with full-fledged Windows 10 :)

People are lazy to jump over to another ecosystem and start over unless the current ones screw up. It would take a major new tech for people to take notice, like a long lasting battery or a crazy good camera, things which other companies can't replicate. The ability to copy one another is too easy nowadays since nothing is that innovative anymore.

                                    Windows mobile may be smooth but there's just something lacking and those awful big squares

                                      [deleted post]Not sure android is going to last long. Google is building a new OS from scratch that will be similar to windows 10 in adapting to devices. They are building their own kernel too instead of relying on linux.

                                        Microsoft is earning more from Android. They trying to link the PC and phone using their own launchers like Arrow Launcher.
