Zenodroid, 19 Oct 2017https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/4e8ddcb3... moreLike I said, please go and download the full size Mate 9 camera samples and see that the image resolution is 3968x2976 and NOT 4032x3024 as stated by devicespecifications.com. Based on that information alone it's clear that they state the WRONG sensor design for the Mate 9 on that website, what don't you understand about that??? Both M9/10 have the same resolution sensors (3968x2976), both are BSI and both are the IMX286. You can forget about that faulty spec site and do proper research.

I love the Monochrome that took from the Mate10 Pro because on the left side photo I can see the line of the statue and on the right side the dynamic range and the building are in good color.

Mate 9 sensor makes people in photo disappear. Look at (1st) first picture.
thats why i think Mate 10 takes better pictures and people visible.

Mate 10 has slight aggressive processing, in day time shot shadows shot clearly suffers. However, in low light shot mate 10 leap and bound over the mate 9, it is due to the f1.6.... overall i like the mate 10 more....

It is OBVIOUS that the Mate 9 produces better picture than Mate 10.. Why do the reviewer has to blatantly lie and say every on ever picture that Mate 10 is a bit better?? Where is the credibility?? Just because the company expect you to praise the Mate 10 doesn't mean you have throw away your honesty and credibility?? Seriously I can't read the BS article.. Only the pictures do justice and all the readers can derive the conclusion from just pictures.. Do a poll and you will be put to shame with people roaring that Mate 9 is better.. You better sit at a corner and reflect yourself.. SHAME

So, looks like the Mate 9 has the better camera. At least for now, if this is just a software-issue.

[deleted post]It's been confirmed that the Mate 9 uses the Sony IMX286 sensor with BSI. The resolution of that sensor is 3968x2976, not 4032x3024 (IMX260)(Galaxy S7) as stated by devicespecifications.com. Download the full size samples for both the M9/10, you'll see both have the exact same resolution of 3968x2976. Sorry to say both have the same sensor.

Huawei ruined the already good processing in their images with the Mate 10. The Mate 9 shots are a lot more pleasant to look at. Overshapening is never a great idea.

Zenodroid, 18 Oct 2017Not the same sensor, sorry. Did you read the article?? Quote : "Yet, the Mate 10 and 10 Pro have an updated Dual Camera powered by Leica and Huawei. It uses the same sensors as the Mate 9, but those sit behind brighter f/1.6 lenses." Both M9/10 use the Sony Exmor IMX286 sensors.

The camera sensors are the same for both the Mate 9 and 10, which makes it impossible for the dynamic range to be different between the two. What you are seeing is a difference in micro contrast. All of the mentioned issues with the Mate 10 camera can be resolved with optimised firmware.

Yes, Mate 9 looks more soapy but more natural at the same time. I had the same oversharpening in Samsung S7 edge and fed up with already. Sad to say but Mate 9 looks better choice (even despite the camera) than Mate 10

Mate 9 wins by a mile, except in low light of course. But still Mate 9's samples were better in my opinion.
