Like if US together with Apple were the center or the navel of the world to look at. Although it is said that the Americans believe so. And your comments seems to show that. Is an important market for the press, developers and phone manufactures but that's all. I do not see why the press has to lick their as*** and manipulate the opinion so that everything is to their liking lying as they usually do.

So, at the end, Apple hasn't inovated anything in tech aside an aged design trend less this ugly Cyclops with Uni-EyeBrow try and some features of their ecosystem. Basically a product for clumsy people with money. Normal that need a good customer service but in turn abuse of them not only in product prices but also in repairs, almost coercing the payment of AppCare +, loyalty, etc.
Our childs as us when young, buy with their eyes and about others have, no with a rational mind. They don't know how much cost win the money. Do not waste your money irrationally on this ugly thing, unless you fervently believe it's worth it ...

I echo the same thoughts and concerns as the writer. Likewise, I normally will get the latest and greatest iPhone, but neither the iPhone 8 nor X appeals to me. Great hardware is brilliant, but is not the main thing that people sought when getting a phone. After all, we have reached a stage where the SOC is powerful enough not to make the device feel like a 90s computer. Beyond that, it's just for boasting in benchmark performance. Design wise, I don't think Jony despite what he claims that he spent 4 years, managed to impress. It looks different, but I do agree that even the humble Mi Mix 2 looks better from my opinion. The lost of Touch ID is also a big lost since it's really simple to and convenient to use.

As someone who hasn't owned an iPhone since 2009's 3GS, this is the first one I actually think looks good.
If it was available at the same time as my Note 8, I may well have been tempted.

Is an edge to edge display a necessity, no. Is it awesome to show off? You bet. Just not $1,000 good... If only Xiaomi hadn't pulled the punch spec wise on the Mi Mix 2. In my eyes, Xiaomi will always hold the crown for being the first to make the bezelless phone.
