I do not think Elop will be fired in the near(or far for that matter) future therefore Meego is as good as dead in favor of WP7.And even after Elop is sacked i do not belive Nokia will go back to Meego(past) and will stick with WP7(future)

Android is a joke compared to Nokia's previous NITs and the future N9, dual core processors used for no reason but achieving finally smooth UI operation like N900 and N9. The browser in an android phone, for example the GS2, is finally as smooth as my N900. I wonder what use everyone has from that raw power, bragging rights or geek factor? If you want customization, geeky stuff and nice use of that power, buy a full linux device like the N9.

Ashura, 27 Jun 2011Ummmmmm hello i do not use WP7 myself i am a proud Android ... moreMeeGo was never pronounced dead, just not a primary OS further in the future. It will continue to have support and I bet it will be back as a primary OS. When N9 was announced, Nokia shares increased in price, reception was 100% positive, but when Sea Ray was leaked they dove again. Elop is as good as fired. If I wanted WP7, I would have bought it now, same OS experience like HTC, LG variants with no modifications and at a fraction of the price. MeeGo is Nokia's future.

This phone/OS is so impressive.
None of the now established phone OS were this impressive at the start of their life. But this Meego/harmattan is simply awesome. This harmattan is a real winner.

Why some stupid people like to compare Samsung ugly looking Galaxy S2 with this beautiful Nokia N9.
This N9 is a solid build, most easy to use & nice looking smartphone. Nokia phones are reliable. Samsung phones break down after a few months use.
Also, Samsung like to use newest hardware / software which has not been proven reliable enough for marketing.

Enjoy your disgusting looking multitasking, an outrageously bad copy of Symbian and WebOS multitasking, DRM, Zune movie converter (not being able to watch pure divx, matroska, etc). You go have fun with WP7, while others enjoy everything MeeGo offers.

One wonders what Elop is thinking.Releasing this phone at an outragously high price and then anouncinh that Nokia is abandoning Meego for WP7.Now do not get me wrong i belive that is a smart move by Elop but not the release of this phone as a Meego phone. If this was released as a WP7 pohne that would be smarter

serginio, 27 Jun 2011where would be nikia now if they would join android os?????Probably making a lot more money, but then it would be just another face for Android. We need a choice of OS. Not another Windows-like domination.

The N9 is very high quality plastic, and it's polycarbonate which helps with radio reception unlike iphone 4 which loses and has to be held specially or with a bumper. i bet you don't mind the GS2 being made of cheap plastic.

The phone is 2 years old and smoother and faster than a new dual core. Browser is super fast at 600mhz, killover at 1150mhz ;) With community optimizations, N900 is a proof of how fast a phone can be with optimized software.

Why does the N9 have NO MICRO USB CARD SLOT? Why ruin a perfect unit with this ommission? I dont care for a 64gb internal memory. I want my phone to read a card which I can transfer and view in my camera, pc, other phone, etc.

I've used nokia n900 and its a great device, just not for every tom dick and harry. Meego looks very promising to me and i'll definitely give it a try. Having said that, i just cant resist calling elope an as**ole. Couldn't he keep his mouth shut and just wait for the public response about this phone. May God save nokia from this stupid person... or may be he is a smart person, working for microsoft!
