30 June, 2011
The Nokia N9 certainly made a great first impression and a lot of people are eager to get their hands on it. That's why Nokia put up a webpage, that should help you find out when the device becomes available in your...

Elop hates Meego because it threatens his plans for a windows phone. Which is risk if windows phone fails to perform.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2011I understand why people don't like nokia here in the USA. ... moreDon't get your material comment. Nokia use the best materials in the business. Look at N8, E7, X7 etc. High quality design paired with high quality materials that last far better than anyone elses. (Hint: putting glass back pane on a mobile is one of the stupidest ideas in history.)

On HW side, the main gripe is processors and display resolution, which their more efficient OS partly compensates for. Great call quality, good battery life, best camera design etc. The new CBD displays are absolutely gorgeous. N9 has the best screen in business in my opinion.

AnonD-40, 30 Jun 2011Nice one Elop! The world doesn't need to know MeeGo. The... moreThere is only one spot for monopoly in this world and that spot belongs to Apple. Nokia used to give their customers choices, a lot of choices. But now they've turned into a monopoly like Apple. They want to force Windows Phone to their customers. And you applaud Elop for that? Many ex-Nokia fanboys, I mean fanboys not just users, have already jumped ship to Android. Android screams FREEDOM so I'm sure they won't be going back to Nokia with its restricted and monopolized Windows Phone BS. And I doubt Nokia will ever snatch Apple's loyal fanbase. I said there is only room for monopoly and that belongs to Apple only. Nokia's biggest markets are the 3rd world countries and I'm certain those poor fellas won't invest their hard-earned money for a lacking and restricted device/OS when there is an inviting alternative which screams FREEDOM and CHOICES and that is Android.

I wouldn't count too much on a single "inform me when available" page. I mean they probably are trying to push WP7 where it is actually available, but I really doubt that N9 wouldn't come to India for example.

I'm convicned that Elop is asking himself to get fired. This dude is beyond incompetent and is a MS slave. I can't wait til he's fired or no longer the CEO of Nokia. He is by far the worst thing to ever happen to Nokia. You mean to tell me that you can't launch it out to USA?? What a fuckin joke he is!

I understand why people don't like nokia here in the USA. They try to sell us new stuff that's dead on arrival. Fancy new oprerating systems that regularly stop working. Made of cheap, ugly plastic materials. the only decent quality product's sold in the USA is the E series. that seems to be changing also...

I learned to like nokia products that are sold in south east asia. Where good looks, reliability, and ease of operations are more important that a long list of features. They were the best there, now there abandment of there good products in favor of inferior feature rich junk is eroding there market share. They are also under huge pressure at the bottom end by a swarm of cheap Chinese "copies" of all successful mobile products.

Much to my dismay nokia has stopped producing the s40 6,7,8 series products thta I enjoyed using so much in the past. I really can't find any mobile products promoted here to my liking. I find all touch screens to be flawed as they demand continuous visual attention to be operated. I's rather be able to multitask when I operate by mobile phone. I have a philips x523 on the way, and have been eyeing japnese domestic market phones as the only current option suitable for my taste's. xman

Nokia & Elop are out of thier heads if they are doing this!

First they have a real gem in their hands and they make a decision like this. OMG!

They deserve to sink with stupid WP7 or whatever is it going to be. I don't care about Nokia at all anymore, been using their products all my life.

The way Elop killed Symbian and MeeGo and now this. They are real duche bags!

I can't believe so many people believe that crap. Nokia N9 will be available in Germany, Spain, France, UK, etc. It will be available through operators, like 90% of mobile phones. Apple didnt sell the first iphone in the US, it was AT&T, does that mean "it missed the US market"? En o, no. :)

I thought it'd had already been determined that those countries are missing...
Simply because Nokia stores are being shut-down in those countries...
And that it's still very likely that carrier deals are being struck etc.

As we all already say DOA DOA DOA (Dead On Arrive)

Meego was a joke, Nokias plans unknow...Why release somthing they will never want in first place, the b*sta**d son from Nokia? The unwanted...you name it, this is something that never has to pass...

And NO matter how many signatures you get...this phone will be KIA since they are more focused on WP7 devices than any other OS...

ANd as I said before, Nokia don't want to make dirt on Windows Phones, thy know real money is on Windows OS and Nokia need money to survive..so simple...

I wish N9 gets AnnA or BELLE since is a niece piece of hardware...
