Nokia N9 to miss on some major markets

30 June, 2011
The Nokia N9 certainly made a great first impression and a lot of people are eager to get their hands on it. That's why Nokia put up a webpage, that should help you find out when the device becomes available in your...

That availability checker is on the Nokia Europe site. Why would the USA be listed on the Nokia Europe site. It's just poor reporting to state that this article is fact without verbal confirmation from Nokia. I won't believe that N9 is not coming to the US until Nokia USA says so!

I don't think so..... The Philippines is not included on the list of countries, but the N9 is on the Nokia Philippines webpage.

It's stupid to make the assumption that countries that are not on the list will not receive the N9.

AnonD-5197, 30 Jun 2011LG did mention MeeGo before back in late Apri, though they ... moreI must have missed that. But it makes sense tough.Nokia is abandoning it and since MeeGo has roughly the same origins as Android, other companies can mod it and use it on theyr own phones

Nokia you are dead. I am an ardent Nokia fan. Even with all the droids and iphones around, I was still using your Symbain^3 powered N8. I am from India and you know India is one of the biggest markets for your handsets. And you wnt release N9 in India? This is going to be the final nail in your coffin in India. Stepehn Elope...he is just the foolest and the most irritating person on earth....he became the CEO of Nokia not to save Nokia from troubled waters, but to save MS from doom. WELL....the future of both the companies is clear now......both are gonna perish in not time...I would get myself an iphone 4 or a SGS II or Sony Arc....A humble request to the board of directors at Nokia....FIRE Stepehen Elope right now......he isnt doing you any good.....WP7 is as irritating as Symbian...perhaps even more...I simply dnt like WP7........Fire Stephen Elope and get on with more Meego devices...this is gonna save you and you may even reclaim your position of the leading mobile manufacturer in the world......Wake up and smell the beans.......

It's time for mr elop to leave Nokia and come back to ms, I have preorder my N9 and I will wait when it's available even if I see it's not available in my country, But if this ceo thinks he will force me to buy a wp I think he's very stupid, I prefer to buy a phone with android or the next iphone.
Very disappointed by choices of this man

Or it could be because this is the online availability checker for *Nokia's online store*. Which closed today in the UK, and other major countries:

                                  http://www.nokia.co.uk/online-shop-closed

I haven't done a tally (this'd be for someone who wanted to do some original research rather than jumping to the same conclusions as everyone else who posted this today), but I bet there's a strong correlation.

Why is the Nokia Board allowing such madness? I can't possibly understand what Elop's doing.
I'm from Germany and pretty excited about the N9, because I love the thought of running Linux on my mobile and don't have hand over my data to Google.
And now Elop's trying to tell us, that after this big N9 hype, it will be released virtually nowhere where people live that are interested in this device?
He seems like a little child which is sore about not getting what it wants (which, in this case, is to not bother about the N9), so that now he tries by all means to destroy not only the N9 sales, but also MeeGo. He throws millions of dollars of investment out of the window, albeit the potential the N9 has.
Even if one doesn't like the device, why would one want the N9 to be a flop, if he thinks positive about Nokia? More sold units would mean more income, and hence a recapitalisation of Nokia.
I know it's not out yet, but from the thai footage posted lately, I can't understand what one may actually dislike about MeeGo (I talk about the OS itself, not the fact that support may be virtually non-existent), especially when it's so easy to find the way to additional apps via AlienDalvik/usual Linux software sources?
I know my English isn't as good as that of a natural speaker, so I'm happy about any constructive criticism ;).
