But still , on videos stabilization , Sony does outperformed (most) flagship , including V30 , S8 & Note8 , etc. as Sony's most advanced Electronic Image Stabilization (gyro) technology , the "SteadyShot 5-axis EIS" , has the best stabilization technology so far on smartphones that every time you tried to shake it , it works very smooth and doesn't move and shaky very much , even OIS can't match it till now and most reviewers praise what Sony did it . If OIS was implemented to videos in Xperia(s) , i think it will wobble sometimes and Sony dislike if that happens to their phones because their main focus was on stabilization all the time .
So , did it answer your question why Sony hasn't implied OIS from the start ?

As a Sony fans , i can't wait to see what Sony has to implied to their first bezel-less flagship, and i think it will look and feel brilliant as Sony implementation on bezel-less will be better , unique , stronger , elegant and sturdy combined with its own original styling , that can be known from long distance , than most manufactures design nowadays that look and feel the same to be honest with you . There's already some excitement under-the-hood inside . I feel the Xperia ZL from 2013 vibes when heard the news as it was SOny first high screen-to-body ratio on Sony phones with 75,6% STB-R with just height of 131.6 which already way impressive at that time (XA Ultra currently hold that record tho now ; 76,8%) .
Although some features doesn't that much change , it still a great specs for flagship such as 3.420 mAH Battery , 5.7" 4K HDR10 18:9 , USB 3.1 Gen 14 , Android Oreo (8.0/8.1) and others that hasn't been mentioned yet . Pricing possibly a little too far , but doesn't very far like iPhone X or Note8 , and could be the time they reduced it . IMX400 Mk 3 or new IMX series can be put on Sony new chapter of Xperia . QLED or at least OLED could be installed for the first time in Sony phones . And they should still put their older signature edition features on their phones to make it unique such as FPS placement , dual front-facing stereo speakers and location of camera and non-SIM-ejector-need SIM tray and others that Sony thinks need to stay .

All of them changed their design already and before the bezelless design, their new models had a many design changes except Apple.
Sony Xperia Z5, XZ, XZS, all of them look the same.
I had the Z5 and it was one of the best smartphones for me but they still use the same design with the same bad ScreenToBodyRatio.
Hope they still place the fingerprint reader on the side.

Apple still has, for the most part, the same god damn design since 2007 but y'all ain't hating on it. Samsung literally uses the same design ever since 2011, nobody hating on it either.
Companies like Asus, Xiaomi and even LG use a variation of Samsung's design, I see no-one hating on that.
Sony, a company known for NOT drastically changing designs on their devices, chose to perfect their design language (which they did with the XZ Premium), and all y'all hating.
Please, y'all have no idea how ridiculous y'all look.

They prefer high ISO ibstead of OIS
Set ISO 50 + 1s and photos are better than S8.

Seeing as the fa... moreSorry dude brain washing doesn't work for me, DxOMark? they missed a lot long before the xz premium, giving the xz lower score than my Xperia x, giving the s8 the best smartphone camera made by Samsung a lower score than the mediocre camera of the s7, should i mentione the mate 10, it is actually surprisingly a great camera made by Huawei but not to that score definitely.
And here you are fanboys are seeking for a single source that praise your beloved brand while on YouTube there are hundreds of video comparisons with thousands of opinions and you are the judger not an anonymous person trying to be an expert mostly has a contract with one of the brands, the thousand opinions cannot have a contract with a brand.

Meh, no mention of wireless charging which means the compact won't have it either, guess I'm stuck with my Z3c again lol.
Typical modern Sony phone, make it look pretty but don't bother with actual features/functionality.
