Rumored Snapdragon 845 specs point to next-gen Kryo cores, but old process

30 November 2017
The new chip will allegedly stick to the old 10nm LPE process like the one used in the S835.

So what is new exactly? Slight performance gain (but performace is already sufficient for even demanding tasks with the SD820/E8890), no battery consumption gains (Exynos is the best with LPP!), useless camera MP gains, speeds unavailable in the world except Canada, no DynamIQ, the usual and useless GPU boost and enhancements for rather useless technology.
If you have a device like the S7, 2018 will not be a good year for upgrades because you won't notice them.

I have a hunch Exynos will be the new king in 2018 .

after sd 808 released i couldnt see the different in speed comparison, even my mi4c is lightning fast with the latest miui 9 update using almost 3 yo chipset that is why i chose not to update my phone yet. I know they need to balance the power to more upcoming tech as the demand of quality and higher number are increasing but please also invest more in battery life

What chips! Clearly this stuff is more worthy of being eaten than as high tech

Imagine Note II has had split-view since 2012? iPads since iOS8 and Android officially since Nougat. PiP is now official on Oreo and I had it since 2012 with MoboPlayer app with its pop up and play feature. iPads had it since iOS9. Not everyone wants an ecosystem AKA Apple's sandbox. Our world doesn't revolve around an Apple.

Would love that combo! I feel a quality audio DAC (like the ones on V20/V30) is a must on a mobile phone (at least on the Flagships). Doesn't matter if you are an audiophile or a casual listener. Almost everyone listens to music using their Mobile Phones...and a quality Audio DAC makes ss much of a difference.

I can't wait for Snapdragon 850/855 where they finally use DynamIQ architecture, underscreen fp scanner matured, Animojis for all platforms, support for 41MP and above giving Nokia and Sony an advantage and every new iterations for the next-gen Smartphone.

Oh yeah, having a Quad DAC on all audio ports including the "holy grail" of a 3.5mm jack is mandatory.

                      Sony will have 4K@60.

So, the CPU progress finally come to maturity.
No more revolutionay result compared to previous one.

It's just subtle differences, just as Android OS also now.

No need to change your phone every year!
