Because hybrid sim slot let people have to choose between sdcard or 2nd sim. I hope there is new smaller microsd that can put in hybrid slot with 2nd sim.

Akinaro, 03 Dec 2017Some basic info for people who like to know possibilities o... moreYou forgot my favorite. Home NAS. Unified storage for all your devices, dead cheap these days (seriously you can have it for $100 w 2TB these days) and dead easy to use (most offer apps to access your files).
All the other options are worse than Home NAS, especially if you live in a country with "unlimited data" offers.
BTW once you install a NAS @ home you never have to care about your phone (or any other device's) ingrown storage ... Some people these days, they don't follow tech and they complaining still... pffft

I can easily cope with 32 gig nothing low about it. It all depends the amount of apps you have or if you're a gamer, to which I'm not

I only use my SD card for music and never browse it - just play it through the player and there's no speed issue with that usage.

Sd card does slow that process down, unless you are using really fast cards and have phones with ufs 2.1 or newer. Below 2.1, then you won't feel much, bc the storage is slow. It's the same with computers, hdd vs ssd.

Babe minimum I can get away with 16gb with a micro sd card for my pics.
My old s7 which was a limited edition had 32gb onboard and that was fantastic.
Currently running an note and the 64gb is the right spot for me and three bonus of going external storage really dose do wonders for managing storage

32GB is a bare minimum for normal work, 64GB is desirable & with SD card & it's never enough. Why (never enough) well one album of music in 24 bit 96 KHz eats more than a GB, one good quality 90 minutes FHD Movie encoded in H265 with quality surround sound takes 3 GB... More than anything because people are lazy and don't like much to clean stuff accumulated trough time.

64gb is enough, perhaps 128gb if you store lots of hi res photos. I don't know why you'd want to put UHD films on your phone though, as the screen is so small

64GB with at least 128GB SD card.
Speed of SD card is good enough to store music, photos and other data.
Apps and Games are better stored on internal storage.

I would not mind having 256gb. Remember camera quality increases too. If i had i 64mp camera inwould most def need more space.

Well, I have a phone with 16GB of internal storage (J7 2016) and 32GB Samsung class 10 SD card. It is enough for me, since I don't fill my phone with a lot of apps, and I just store photos, music and other stuff on SD card. I still did not fill up any of that, by the way. So yeah, 16GB is still alright if you don't install too much stuff, but I will probably take a look at 32GB or 64GB phones when I get new one one day, since apps are becoming bigger and bigger and 16GB will just become "obsolete" one day.

When it comes to storage there is no thing as enough the more the better but 64gb should be minimum and also have microsd card

Well i have P10 and it comes with 64GB plus SD card slot. But. The problem is ; bought 128GB SD card can't catch up with my 64GB UFS 2.1 in the phone. Phone becoming awfully slow like 30% slower. So my opinion 128GB is perfect.
Btw 45GB available not 64Gb

I used to think 32gb is more than enough and then I found out system takes a noticable chunk away. Currently I believe 64gb will be enough for about 90% of users, the remaining 10% of heavy users won't be happy even with 256gb, I'm afraid.
Why 32 is not enough? If your music library is stored in FLAC and you want to listen to more than a couple of albums, you'll run out of 32gb (and even 64gb) pretty quickly as your library grows. Same with video - higher quality video takes up ridiculous amounts of space. Same with decent games for phones and tablets. And don't even get me started on recording those videos on the phone - storage simply vaporizes when you make a couple videos.

If my phone has HighRes audio support, RAW image capture, or I'm off the grid sometimes, I want SD card support. Not just "how big", I mean, actual SD card support so I can save the cards of pictures and have movies and such while data is off. I think people get way too caught up in "how much is enough". 32-64 gigs is probably enough for app storage. That isn't all I use storage for.
That being said, it would be incredibly annoying to micromanage storage I couldn't change out, but at least with 256 you'd have about 200 gigs for media. That's about 130 HiRes albums, 5 4k movies, or like 3000 RAW+JPG 24MP pictures. So if I had an iPhone, I'd opt for the larger storage.

-Safe.
-Fast.
-Reliable.
""SD card""
-Perfect for storing images, movies, music.
-Perfect for creating safe backup in case of phone damage.
-Not to fast, but even with cheaper cards you can use all your media instantly.
-Cheap to buy and easy to use.
-Not so great for installing apps.
-Can be annoying if file manager/gallery dont separate them(you can get chaos in folder structures)
""Cloud""
-Annoying because of limits of providers that ask money to store anything bigger
-Most of Cloud services resize images.
-Some providers dont support all formats
-Good for small backups
-Not that reliable and secure.
-Take lots of time to upload/download files even on fast internet(HD content)
-Take lots of battery, because it need send those data in background.
-Not friendly for big files(2k and 4k videos)
As I said this pull is useless, because more is better, especially when today phones are all-in-one devices, so there should be no compromises in that term. Especially that jumping to 128/256GB is not that difficult and should cost OEMs about 5-10 bucks per device, especially when we pay today even 1000$ for them.
Perfect device should have minimum 128GB, because systems and apps take more and more space(total lack of optimization, because there is no excuse for eg facebook taking so much space, some 3D games take less) SD card for media, and cloud for monthly backups of most important data.

Happy with my 128GB iPhone 7. 64GB would be enough, but I also like the comfort of not having to worry when installing apps I don't need or making videos. And it also wasn't available in 64GB, so that justified it for me. 8 or 16 GB are not ok in 2017, 32 GB is ok for mid range or so-called "premium mid range" as well as a little older flagships competing in this price segment.
