The back doesn't look the same, the front doesn't look the same, the corners doesn't look the same, the buttons are different, the camera setup is different, the fingerprint scanner is moved and different. It's VASTLY different.

And I'm not sure you quite understand how much the minimum of 10 000 cycles is. If you connect and disconnect things from your USB-C port 9 times every single day, that port will still last for a minimum of 3 years.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2017Side power/fps has nothing to do with round corners. Reme... moreI said you CAN'T have rounded corners with a side-FPS. It's big and flat, which kind of limits you to flat sides.

And I'm not sure why you're listing the height and batteries of devices. The question was how much room the removal of the 3.5 mm port gives, and I stated what the CEO's estimated, and what the successor devices actually got. This isn't a competition what current OEM's manage to fit into their current volume, but what they could manage to fit extra if they removed a large component that their consumers don't use anyway.

If you take a flight you recieve radiation hundreds of times more than an x-ray. Id be more more worried about that. Bluetooth is like coffee, in the may or may not have a tiny chance of being a vary slight carcinogen section.

So stop defending the not enough room theory. You're embarrassing yourself. There's plenty of room. They do this for PROFIT, nothing else. You're just too blinded by the big brand name. Wake up!
Listen, I get you like Nokia. I did too. I've made themes for Symbian that were downloaded almost 1 BILLION times without any profit. Just for fun and love for Nokia.
BUT, defending a brand just cos you like it doesn't cut it anymore. Removing the 3.5mm jack is a total deal breaker for me because i use the headphones 90% of the time WHILE charging.
Using Bluetooth headphones = BRAIN CANCER. CANCER!
If you feel you want to die from a brain tumor thats your choice, BUT NOT MINE.
          BLUETOOTH = BRAIN CANCER!
I'm a Sony fan now, BUT if they loose the jack I'll say fk u sony and buy another brand that has it. It's that simple.
Nationalism, religion and fanboyism are the worst things on this planet.

If we have expected Nokia 9 for the longest time, then why Nokia is killing the hype???!!!!! However, if Nokia 8 is better than the Nokia 9 and sells better, I am speechless!!!!!!!

You sounds like jony Ive for iPhone 7 "entirely" new design, just because of antenna bands. Look the shape of the back - the same.
And about USB-C port - combine battery recharding cycles with plugging in and out heaphones and you'll receive huge number of usage. not to mention plugging in data cables for transfer files etc. And for all that - one single port. Good luck after first year of usage.

Remember Z5? Very similar to Z3 but with flat frames.

XZ Premium, U11, OP5 are shorter than iphone 8+. All them have bigger batteries. It is a choice.

Apple chose to keep about 7.3mm instead of a 7.7 and bigger battery.

                  Moto Z 2016 x Moto Z Force 2016 x Z Play 2016. All them have same height.
The only one without the jack is the regular Z. The one with smallest battery inside.

A3 is smaller than iphone 8. It has ip68 and jack

FinnishInquisition, 04 Dec 2017This is what the Nokia 8 looks like: https://imgur.com/a/fY... moreAs usual your opinions has no sense at all. If you have 3.5 mm jack and usb-c commector onboard - load will divide between audio jack and charger. If you have just one - load will double. Charging and listening music or watching movies? Forget. And you know, headphone cord and usb-c jack can damage usb-c connector much easier than 3.5 mm jack. You know, I watch your comments here snd thinking - all "nokia" fans are the same. Otherwise nobody would buy this chinese sleaze.

I mean if someone prefers a phone because they actively use the 3.5 mm port, that's fine. But people pretending that removing a big smartphone component won't free up internal space in the phone are just being ridiculous.

And this is what the Nokia 9 is expected to look like: https://imgur.com/a/BNVi2

                        They're quite vastly different designs.

As for the durability of the port, USB-C is rated at 10 000 cycles, while the 3.5 mm port is only rated for 5000. It also won't compromise waterproofing any more than a 3.5 mm port would. If anything it's better to have one less ingress point.

But for most it's a non-issue, since modern batteries are long-lasting and incredibly fast charging (50 % in 15 minutes). It'd be a bit of a step backwards to remove the 3.5 mm port, only to add a second port that takes up a lot of space that people hardly ever use.

It will take some getting used to but i still enjoy plugging in my earphones and watching a movie while charging.
