No removable battery = deal breaker.
No 3.5mm jack = deal breaker.
No FM Radio (it requires 3.5mm jack) = deal breaker.
No microSD card slot = deal breaker.
Curved screen edges/corners = deal breaker.
18:9 screen ratio = deal breaker.

So even one from this list means no buy.

The manufacturers intentionally remove 3.5mm jack because of corporate greed. While the manufacturers know that 3.5mm jack is the best, they're laughing at you people, who are trying to justify/defend the removal of 3.5mm jack. And the solution is simple: don't buy phones that don't have removable battery, 3.5mm jack, ... That's how you teach the lesson to hypocrite/greedy manufacturers.

No need for 3.5mm jack since I just using bluetooth connection with my headphone, earphone, bluetooth speaker or multimedia speaker.. Today, bluetooth apTx is fantastic, and help me avoiding those messy wires..

303tk4, 17 Dec 2017This writer's reference to SD card slot is nonsense. Mos... moreActually, many folk like and use their msd slot enabled phones, you can keep different data sets on different msd cards,if your into flashing rims,it's very handy indeed, you can keep a msd with a Rom image on it and a royalty different set of data that is only pertinent to that particular Rom and what you use it for, trying to keep and store 25+ roms in device storage can and does lead to problems of devices booting into the wrong Rom.
My case,I used to have seperate msd chips that had versions of Windows 95-98 and XP (embeded) very handy for just slipping into my old HTC hd2 and booting into in just about a minute,I also had msd that had ultra fast, very clean, very safe roms on,and cos the hd2 could also boot/run winmo 6.5 (it's native os) having seperate msd was very handy, winmo for work use, android for fun and stuff winmo couldn't do..
All I had to carry was an empty TicTac container or similar and I had 16 different msd to choose from !!
It's also useful for different types, styles etc of media, such as films music etc.
Device makers didn't really have much say in the debate about mad,it was handed to them by Google, who A)never bothered to learn about msd use in the real world and who suddey decided that msd were a security problem,so basically crippled their use and forced makers to stop fitting slots, but stupid seeing as how insecure android was then and still is now, probably done because Google couldn't figure out a way to get a cut of the profits from msd cards.
Just as they do for any device or service they can't profit from,it gets killed off pretty soon after they realise they cannot use their influence etc to turn another buck, because of course alphabet/Google is so close to bankruptcy that they can't afford to run services that either don't make a profit or cost a small sum to them to provide, no matter how many users complain.
Case in point, why did Google kill reader, many, many folk used it,there was alternative at the time that suited many users, but Google killed it anyway, all because they couldn't turn a buck from it and decided to try and kill off the whole idea of rss feeds, which many find vital even today, quick, simple and they work well, use little data and which the user can pick and choose exactly want they want to read, not hunt around on many sites trying to find stuff and not having info rammed down their throats by biased providers that cannot be trusted or provide nothing of any use.
Msd cards, just like 3.5 Jack's are treated like fashion items by makers, but are both vital part of a device spec to many, many "serious" device users..

"Apple seems exempt from this, but its trendy (and admittedly high-quality) ecosystem of accessories keeps users happy."

The dongle-life must be very trendy.....
The slow-charging cable that comes with it's products must be keeping users happy....
And the fact they don't have their own wire-less charger might indicate how rich their ecosystem is........

2 USB-C ports would be a better idea than 1 and still no 3,5mm, but even then I and most people would need an adapter because all my devices have the headphone jack.

If Samsung removed the headphone jack and Apple kept it the poll results would be reversed.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2017Not sure why the wrong problem keeps getting highlighted an... moreAgreed that is the bigger issue if I get another usb c port one for audio and one for charging I wouldnt mind 3.5mm being removed

Give me a solid reason to switch from 3.5mm to usb c and if 3.5mm is going away why not put two usb c one for charging and other for audio or you can use both for audio (2 headphones would be nice) and both for charging (faster but would impact battery life span)

This writer's reference to SD card slot is nonsense.

Most users wanted an ample storage, not a slot itself.
We're happy with 128gb or above internal storage instead of the SD slot, as long as it comes affordable.

Also, his/her remark about "apple users are satisfied" is nonsense too.
Being satisfied with earbuds' quality doesn't mean being satisfied with "being forced to buy $160 extra and cope with occasional inconvenience" These are two different things.

DamiDev, 17 Dec 2017But if you want to listen music and charging your phone on ... moreI meant another port for headphone by making phone and headphone port smaller not using usb C

There is still no convincing explaination why we cant have both wired and wireless , as others have commented phones are connected to many other devices on occasions that arnt wireless and i have no intention of replacing equipment because of some phone manufacturers idea of progress.

We can just carry an extra "accessory" with our beloved Removed Essentials Phone.

I've adopted any new port relatively soon so far, what's more I've been rocking Bluetooth earphone for four years,
BUT STILL I SAY HEADPHONE JACK IS NECESSARY.

Sometimes I don't want to use BT earphone's juice for short time use, and wire alternative (usb-c headphone) makes usability worse than the current one.

It's nothing like "luddite", "laggard adopter" whining, but just this trend isn't cool
