Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) pre-orders begin today

The device will be up for pre-order in Samsung's home country of South Korea, with sales beginning January 6.

You pay for what you like not for a sticker with a brand on a phone like is the case of all 3 above.
For example Iphone X cost 1350 or 1500 if you like to have that quickcharger.
Another example is that Xiaomi or Oneplus for a 1500 can make a phone with maybe 16 or 32 cores CPU maybe a Snapdragon 860 or higher. Maybe 2 or 4 TB disk space. Maybe Ultraelite superamoled screen. Maybe 32 GB ram and Adreno 560 or higher GPU and a camera as good as proffesional one from Canon or Nikon companies.
These are the facts. But reality is as we see it now some cant sell cheap and do everything in its possibilities to hide the truth as much as they can. So for example IOS bugs are unveiled long time ago after they being know by company why to distract customers fro buy aye? Same for Note 8 batteries. Which has been posted few hours ago on GSM Arena. I believe Samsung know this a long time ago as well.
But as usualy until any problem becomes global they will do like nothing its happening.

    And i dislike curved screens as well also that Fudge Notch on Apple which nowdays everybody trying to copy. Like Huawei for example.
    Soon Samsung makes a curved screen phone with notch and call it innovation.
    Bleach no. My stomach is like on rollercoaster when i try to imagine that.
    Iphone X is costlier due to lot of innovation. Like dual battery to keep the phone as slim as possible :-) Apple speciality. Soon they make phones big like tablets and thin enough to shave a beard :-)
    Waterproof its a garbage if people are not clumsy they dont need that costly improvement.
    Different case is wghen you working in area where you often get contacts with water for example firemens, rainforests etc.
    Man i understand this are the phones but in case of car Noone apart from Buggati Chiron use Motor of Buggati chiron in his car.
    But in phone industry all runing on SD 845.
    Only difference makes Apple with their A1 bionic and Huawei with Kirin 970.
    Thats not many choices if we imagine there are as much phone brand companies as car companies.
    And lastly i am free to talk this site is for free and everybody can say anything he desires so yes i can junge despite its unofficialy. But i am able to present my ideas and opinions freely because i can.

      this is getting ridiculous, $560 for a mid range phone?
      what about A8+? $650?

      we can get LG G6, S7 Edge, Note FE, or OP5T for less.
      and not mentioning all the good devices from Huawei or Xiaomi.

        You're talking about phones, not car. Your bumper reference makes no sense.
        It's not for you to judge who watches what things. Phones with such price tags, ppl want flexibility. You don't, many do.
        Waterproof thing isn't garbage. Nowadays most ppl want their phone to look good, waterproof cases somewhat makes phone ugly. Anyway it's subjective.
        IphoneX is costlier than note8.
        I don't like edge displays myself but many love it.

Don't confuse quality with features, either, because the phone with the most features isn't necessarily the best phone, too.

I bought my A7 2016 when it came out because of battery and OIS. Was looking for an upgrade but now I have to think twice about A8 2018. May be the A9 Pro 2016 can be a great option.

              I get it that people pre-order flagships. But this isn't flagship, it's mid-range phone. Are other manufacturers mid-range phones in pre-order too?

I never saw anyone hating any brand this much. You hate Samsung only based on your personal opinion. You aren't even trying to be objective!

Ew with its smaller bezel screen, lower ppi, no microSD card slot, non water-resistant, bad camera and iOS like software skin no thanks, I'd rather get this better looking phone instead.
                  Bezzels are like a bumpers no bumpers on car and nobody would buy it.
                  The ppi difference is really small and really doesnt matters.
                  128 or 64GB in aphone is more than enough so card slot is useless unless you download a lot of adult movies :-)
                  Water resistance is another garbage which can be covered by waterproof case for example from alliexpress just for few eur. No need to pay hundreds of EUR for having IP67/68. Anyway i believe you are not clumsy to swim with your phone or call under rain.
                  Camera were good enough he ended as number 6 i think in the best of 2017 phones in camera. And anything with camera can be solved by software updates,
                  IOS is also good enough un a different template and problem is fixed.
                  This phone i mean this new A series have nothing worth its price.
                  But its typical for shamesung to outrun apple in pricing and people like you buy no matter what.
                  Lastly to say curved screens and Iris scanner made by Samsung are the worst innovation i ve seen last years in phones.

                      JABBADAHUT, 02 Jan 2018they're trying to kill their A series for 2018...hopefully ... moreMan when A series 2017 drops as much as possible it will be around 300 eur for A5 but if A8 drops in price to as low as possible it will be like 450 for a basic model and almost 600 eur for A8+. But its Shammesung speciality to ask hundreds of euros for a device with Samsung stickeron it despite its not worth even a 50% of its full price.

                                      non geeks will blindly buy this phone because of the design which looks premium
                                      Samsung common even my 3 years old daughter knows the internal specs of this midrange device.
                                      which the price doesn't meet the specs of this phone, is this the moment to jump to another ship?
