Anna, 12 Jan 2018If not dxOmark what else plz?This site is good enough. They offer good descriptive comments and you can judge for yourself, using the pictures.
DxO on the other hand doesn't use a standard set of images. Their comments on smartphones seem highly subjective and whimsical. And worst of all, they assign a lame number score as if it was the final say on everything......

Lg were the t... moreIf by camera setup you mean normal and wide angle combo then I think its one of best but if you mean sensor G5 and V20 camera was great they did wrong by using mid range sensor but I think its because they wanted to cut cost because G6 used older chipset and no would buy V30 if it costed even close to Note 8 or S8

Woah wait a minute.....
Nokia 808 Pureview had scored 77 which is better than Nokia 8's 68 score.
I think Gsmarena have mentioned something wrong.

From one side, Nokia 8 has mediocre camera, which is awful for old Nokia camera standards and can be said that the main result is right - bad camera for high Nokia standards.
From other I really don't believe DxO, especially after they add portrait mode and zoom to their score - portrait is fake bokeh effect and zoom is just cutting partial of photo.
For comparison: my Nokia 808, released in 2012 have real bokeh effect, when you decrease megapixels down and focus on closure object. Also when you set camera to 8MP, instead of 34MP, you can zoom enough to match the zoom of iPhone or other, with near the same quality. And this 2012 year phone!
The verdict: DxO are biased site, especially after their collaboration with OnePlus, but also Nokia 8 had bad camera for old but gold Nokia name.

Seriously, does anybody truly trust dxo mark? Just because they gave it a poor score doesn't automatically make it bad, if it is even that bad. Stop jumping into bandwagons. "Oh! Dxo mark gave it a bad score, my phone has suddenly become shit!" I'm sure if this article hadn't came up many users would praise their nokia 8 cameras, save for little bugs here and there.
P/s: i don't own one, just saying not to trust these companies blindly.

The king is back with an awful camera, I try it with my self a lot of times sad to say my one and half year old moto z performs way better in camera. What a shame.

The hell you guys said this phone is €600? It is seriously just about $520 on almost everywhere. It is even below $500 is some place. This is the only high end Nokia phone. But high end does not mean flagship.
I do not trust dxo mark anyway.

My niece has nokia 6 which's cam is very good... comes close to my s6edge. Only it lacks OIS. So nokia 8 which costs almost 3 times the 6 , i believe should definitely have a better cam than s6egde. So in all imo dxomark is misguiding here....

I'm puzzled by the multitude of comments extolling the Nokia 8 camera. It performs poorly, just like DXO has determined. (@Sim B) A simple comparison using the GSMArena photo comparison page will show just how far behind the Nokia 8 is from its peers like the S8, S7, and especially the U11. The Nokia 8's main camera is unable to cope with fine detail, and sadly has image quality just marginally better than that of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
