Miraculously they are almost not affected by the update. Yeah yeah, i know, their "perfect" CPU's are to "blame" the high performance. And crapple is really sad that iphone 6/s the most used crapple devices are now good for playing ping-pong with them.

Carol, 13 Jan 2018So, crapple found a new way of slowing down their devices a... moreThe Spectre "fix" patches affects the performance of all devices, not just Apple's. All old devices will see a massive drop in performance - that is if people can/will actually update their devices. (phones, tablets, laptops, desktops)
Old devices will see a big drop in performance while newer ones that use more advanced CPUs will see lower drops.
As most Android phones barely get any updates or have an update life of max two years, they will not get patched, thus no slowdown, but will be vulnerable to Spectre-enabled malware. Malware which will soon flood the web because hackers know the majority of Android users cannot update to the latest version. This might spell 'doom' to Android devices that don't run the latest version of the OS.

Yet.
A webpage running java containing spectre malware could affect any vulnerable device.
A phone with a mining malware is a lot slower than a patched one.

this vulnerability existed for 10 years ... and no one felt it, so now so sudden all are crazy about it ?
no one lost his bank account or Visa or anything for 10 years , so why all the hype now ?
I would not patch my phone for this. there is 0.00000001 chance some one will use it on your phone.

Let's not forget battery time will also be lower and most iPhones are known for being not so great in that regard.
Makes me wonder if it's going to be any better for Androids... We know many manufacturers drop any sort of updates after 2 years release time.
