-Its not ... moreWell Apple does not use an ARM designed CPU (they are using the ARM ISA but their own design) so actually it is Apples fault :) But they are in good company since pretty much every CPU design suffers from this.

-Its not apples fault arm processors have a vulnerability.
-iphone isnt the only affected device. All intel and Arm devices are affected(basically every consumer device on the planet)
-almost all, if not all, effected devices will take a performance hit

This update will propably kill Android phones If it does this for iPhones which always been more powerful.
Luckily for Android users and iOS users this 40% drop has nothing to do with Spectre patch. YouTube is full of videos with different iPhones giving same Geekbench score than before.

mir, 12 Jan 2018If only Apple was an actual honest company and never slowed... moreActually iphone 5 is decently fast today. And that is on its latest ios versions 10.3.2-10.3.3... Just take a look on youtube, it is even faster than the iphone 5s.

This article is about the Spectre fix which, according to GSMArena, makes iPhone 6 take a massive performance hit. That is simply is not true and they could easily have done some test on their own before posting this article based on single persons test.

Did you guys verify this? Mine is still doing well after running geekbench 4. This applies to both my iphone 6 and iphone 7.
