And it was not the same thing. That had to do with drivers and controllers with ufs more so than anything else. And something that fixed in the next release.
Though Im sure if they really wanted to they could have worked around it, but also had to focus more on thinness.
Apple did it for control and profits. And kept it that way since.

Batteries differ in quality, be they originals or third party. I've had mixed experiences with both Nokia and china made batts.
Some of my fellow Note 3/4 users managed to hold on longer, especially those with zerolemon normal/extended battery. Apparently, we are deemed bad for the industry.
Sealed batteries already scream planned obsolence. Even more now that they make it difficult to remove them.

However sadly this is just as real and if not is actually just as big or worse an issue with cars.
It's a corporate greed problem in this terrible world.
Cars are generally not made with quality or the idea to last as long. And even sometimes knowing that it will break down.
You think 1k for a phone or 40 bux a month for 2 years is a lot? What about 20-40k and hundreds a month for years??

Nexus 7 had problems with Cache memory, which was overloaded by software updates, if you cleared it it was improving performance dramatically. My one runs now on custom rom Nogut, but hardware is really strugling with it, aged really badly after all these years.

Many of them can only use China battery, they can find the good battery from Korea's SDI, but since their Note 7 explode everything was gone.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2018Sealed batteries! I don't mind about using sealed batteries. There was a time finding a battery replacement was an issue. Regulations need to be tight. I remember my Samsung D600 had no battery replacement and that time Samsung was not that global. The only way I could get an original replacement was shipping it from the UK. Years later I got my first android and replacing the battery was an issue. Batteries were not available and I had to use unreliable batteries from China.

Lol what about non-removable batteries? The most obvious and blatant example of planned obsolescence. Especially combined with small batteries where even minor degradation is a big deal. And that with the already crappy quality of their batteries and the huge possibility of swelling.
I never buy Samsung exactly because they are not build to last (Well that and the ridiculous aspect ratio. Oh and the buggy software, which is also a form of planned obsolescence).
And something that can't be proven but it's obvious:
All manufacturers make their phone crappy enough so that you'll hate at least some aspects of it and you'll be impatient to buy a better one.
That's why i do the exact opposite. Since i see every phone's so crappy, i have 0 desire to upgrade. And i never buy flagships. If it's gonna be crappy anyway (And if i'm gonna have to throw it away due to bad battery), then at least i won't spend tons of money on overpriced junk.

The fact that the phones are not getting security or OS updates per Google schedule is already proof of planned obsolescence. It’s amazing no authorities nor lawyers see this.
