I have a Samsung galaxy s2 and it all good and fast but I just dont feel the WOW factor there. I may go with Nokia as its just a thing that just works. And dont belive in the Reviews as they use these phones just for 1-3 days and review them.

Android 2.3.4 is not a "power hog", it does not need more power than any Symbian, and it can run even better than Symbian on exactly as slow CPU as the one in N8! ZTE Blade run Android on only a 600 MHz ARM 11 processor!
Symbian is actually in no way at all better than Android!

[deleted post]My first question would be, where is your source of information that the Nokia 500 won't have a GPU? And as a follow up, the 500 is based off the C series, so don't expect much from it.

As for the N8, the 680Mhz CPU, sure it maybe a bit low by today's standards. But does the performance stutter? Not really. For one, Symbian is not a power hog like Android is, it doesn't require as much juice to run smooth. Think of it this way, Vista needed high specs to run smooth, where as Win7 being better than Vista, requires less power. Same thing here.

One more thing, for the sake of this argument. Even though you have dual cores being stuck into phones clocked at 1Ghz and above, the basic principal of heat management exists. That is to say that it can only run at it's peak for a limited time before having to downclock to keep the temps down. And if that's not the case, well your battery life seems to be amazing with them. (sarcasm)

Go troll elsewhere until you get enough intelligence in your head for a proper discussion not involving blank statements. But I won't hold my breath on the intelligence part.

        You mad?

[deleted post]Well if you realy think about it no other phone os can run even that smooth with the low hardware Nokia uses. On the other hand the low hardware makes your battery usage time bump up way high. I mean with some symbian phones the mp3 player time is about 70 hours. Can you get that outa some other os? 3 whole days listening to music. 24/3. I mean come on some of it is true. Even the older Symbian the fifth edition gets the browser update and the other smoother update that the Symbian Anna offers. I mean come on no other OS runs so smooth with a bad 421 MHz processor and 128 mb of ram.

Android ripoff? Does that mean we can't transfer apps to sd card anymore?

Bottomline, Nokia still needs symbian for mid range n low end phones. Wp7 is for flagship phones only.

Why do few people have issues with whatever Nokia does. I used N8 for 8 months before it was stolen and now own Samsung Galaxy S2, in a way I used and am using best of both worlds, Symbian and Android. Android does look good but feature wise it ahs a long way to go before catching up wid Symbain. Sad that Nokia announcved Symbian's death and now is teasing people with new features.

Now as for Anna Update, those waiting will get it in August end. Nokia is a comapny and it needs to sell it's handsets, thta's why it was logical to delay Anna on existing customers, to increase the sale of X7 and E6. And had they had released Anna in a hurry, then too u wld hv criticized them for lack of features, bugs and crashes!! So, Just wait for a montha nd Anna will grace ur cell phone.

Now for Belle, Who says, Nokia copied from Android. The notification bar in Android is itself a rip off from Nokia's Maemo device N900. Get ur facts r8. Even if u google out, U will find the basic core of Symbian and Android is 71% similar and everyone knws who came first and so who copied whom!!! Agreed, Android made it for attractive whereas Nokia somewhr failed to gauge the customer mind!! But then , now it comes with Belle and they term it to be copied!!! Ewveryone takes ideas from others, that's what Nokia is doing!! And going by their innovations, this belle may look alike Android, but am damn sure will be more feature full nd powerful than Android!!

Cheers Nokia!!! Just only hitch u urself killed Symbian, that February announcement shld not hv been done!!! :( :(

Looks good - but does it really matter? I had planned to buy an N8, but then Elop killed symbian going for WP7 - and app developers are leaving the sinking ship. In retrospect Nokia should have left symbian to slowly pass away by itself - because after the WP7 statement the broad audience really don't care for Anna and Bell, no matter how good they are now. I went for an SGS2 instead...

Looks a little too small for my liking, His fingers look massive compared to that keypad. Scrolling looks nice and smooth though..
Just doesn't look pollished enough for me. Good effort though if the price is right
