man...i thought for a second that Symbian would improve on their user interface.... but what the hell.
This just proved why Nokia ditched Symbian for WP7.
I would never wait for this lousy update. the touch interface sucks big time.... its slow, laggy and error prone... i dont feel that they have changed a lot. just a new keyboard or visual look wont attract customers.
I feel ashamed for having supported symbian for soo long...a big mistake. Never in my life i would buy a symbian devise.
I looking forward for N9(Meego os) & the first WP7 of Nokia.

N8 is released with an old 680MHz CPU, Nokia fans say: "Who needs the CPU, the N8 has a powerful GPU, that's what matters, the N8 does not need a new 1GHz CPU."
500 is released with an old 1GHz CPU and no GPU, Nokia fans say: "It's has a 1GHz CPU! There is no need for the GPU, Symbian is so optimized and so powerful under the bonnet, there is no need for the GPU, 1GHz is very powerful!"
Ah Nokia fans, you are a comedy.

The touch is crap and the phone is slow compared to the Android handsets... They have copied the notification bar straight from Android. Who wants a Belle when you can have Gingerbread and Ice-cream Sandwich lol...

AnonD-1131, 02 Aug 2011I can't believe Nokia resorted to this. It's even more sha... morewell controlling Bluetooth, wifi, volume etc from the notification bar was well before android in nokia's internet tablets. google just makes a slide down of that feature and uses it in android.
whats wrong when nokia uses it.
If android is that much original then why it is facing patent infringement from many IT giants.

iPlunks, 02 Aug 2011So sick and tired of ppl knocking Nokia. I've using Nokia/... moreHonestly, I will never use Symbian again..but I totally agree with you. IPhoney is just an expensive toy and Droid phones don't come in dual cores as a luxury. The fact is Android needs dual core to run smoothly. I own a Nexus S, so I know. As far as Symbian is concerned, their UI should have a complete transformation for it to become a real hit. The ugly old OS traces that Symbian leaves behind in their new updates just makes me turn away!! And it makes no sense waiting or expcting Symbian to improve dramatically, knowing that Nokia has ditched Symbian in favor of WP7.
And regarding your last statement, if WP7 solves its silly shortcomings and has the same access to apps that Android and iOS enjoys, it will create a huge impact and Nokia will be a leader once again. I am already contemplating purchasing a Nokia WP7 device!!

I'm not entirely impressed. I understand that he is fiddling with the phone in one hand, but the overall looks seems half-baked. Nokia was really late into the touch screen scene and it's paying the price. I was a former Nokia fan for years and I was strung up on the Nokia line for the longest time before they lost me with the N97. Symbian was slow and not user friendly. If it was android for 400 different devices, then I might be able to understand, but symbian had only Nokia. They only have Nokia to design for and they couldn't optimize it to run smoothly on the device...I was hoping to upgrade from my N79 to a N97, but Nokia lost me. I love their hardware, but their software really didn't stack up. I was hoping to go back to Nokia with N9, but hearing their CEO giving up the OS before it even had a chance means that Nokia wouldn't be the way it was before. I see Nokia as Palm in the making.

look great, but sorry, who is the user on this video?
It seems like he is the worst user this phone can get (resp. not able to control a phone with touch screen)

Aaron, 02 Aug 2011The guys at Accenture obviously use Android phones thus the... moreI can't believe Nokia resorted to this. It's even more shameless than iOS 5 notification system rip off. This one on Belle is like a direct copy of Android's. I was bashing Apple for ripping off Android's notification and Nokia came up with something even more blatant!

So sick and tired of ppl knocking Nokia. I've using Nokia/symbian user for years...tried symbian/android and a little iOS...symbian may have its issues but its far better then androids foolisness...eye candy ui and a OS that has just caught up and stepped ahead of nokia but requires major updates to what nokia does out the box. Ppl rave that samsung/lg and moto are ahead of the game...Apples/iOS Nokia/Symbian Blackberry/BB OS PERIOD...Why didn't Samsung make the SGS2 with Bada 2.0???? Samsung/LG and MOTO was knocking on deaths door, til android came in the game..What will they do if Google Decides to MAKE its own phone and samsung lg and moto are left to fend for there own? Duo 1GHZ processor doesn't make a PHONE better then the rest, just means anything less in droid land is obsolete. Sense when did we judge a smartphone by how many apps it has? If symbian/BB OS/webOS and windows phone had the same access to the "apps" how well would androids and ios fair in the game?

Oh dear god.. I have not yet got the Anna update on my Nokia N8 and there are previews of Belle doing rounds.
So, the updates to symbian are basically meant for the previews alone and for new launches. Not for the existing devices??
