When will it end? Kind of sick and tired of Android version updates. Really worth it? Frankly, sometimes I wish Android would just end.

Why do people are so hyped for oreo? they'll be excited for like 10 minutes and then will open facebook again and will use exactly 0 new features in the new version...experience 8 is great as it is, 9 is a nice update, not necessarily a must have, the current version of your device can still handle the "tough" and "demanding" work of tweeting, facebooking and taking a picture of your cat, I promise...

Oreo 8.0 is a bit outdated... got it since 4 months ago, now I have Feb security patch installed and i'm waiting for either 8.1 or 9.0 on my XZ Premium

>search in app drawer – slow
>search in setting
>checked update – nothing happened – then went to another app suddenly “your phone is up to date or something like that”
>after non use of phone around 1/2 hour – there is a delay on opening camera.
>phone dial sometime get lot of delays.
Initially I thought it was my problem – but when spoke to another guy who got Note 8 – he said – yeah it’s normal. And you will “get used to it” .
So I am trying to get used to these delays – but the bitter truth is I am not satisfied with this 1000$ phone.
more: I have uninstalled members, pen up, etc apps to make my phone less laggy (I mean more smooth).

I own S8+ and am a *power user*. Yes, it's true, phone occasionally lags when you I switch between apps while they run some background tasks. On, the contrary, my Sony Xperia XZ Premium *never lags*. I'm always amazed how fluid it is. Samsung has never been that smooth!
About security updates...All Australian S8 phones are still stuck on October 2017 patch level, while other regions have January 2018! Now that's what I call CRAP! I'd rather see current security updates than Oreo on S8 phones.
About user experience... Samsung skinned OS is *fully featured* when compared to my plain vanilla Oreo on Sony.
I agree with other comments. For a phone that'll sold for $AU 1350 I expect to get timely *security* updates. Shame on you Samsung!

Dude, Lag ... moreAhem ahem.. m here to shed some light.. m currently using s7 edge from a year nd yes it lags ( lags not hang (duhh)).. sometimes when i tap on an application it will behave like nothing has happened for a while sometimes.. one more occasion when i noticed the lag nd frustrated is pressing the home buttom to leave an application nd it will take some time to go out to home screen.. annoying.. like hell.. it slows down my speed .. previously used xperia z5 ... No lag issue.. i love samsung phones bt pls samsung mame it more fluid like an iphone.. ( used iphone 6s too for few months as my primary phn bt didnt like the ios thtsy s7)

Now would like to switch to galaxy s9.. pls make it fluid samsung

My Moto X4 came out months after yoour S8 and i have an oreo long time before you unveiled it for your flagship.

Very slow Samsung. Even mid range Nokia 5 got Oreo much sooner.
