God, I hope some Nokia people are following these threads and use the extreme goodwill for the Nokia brand and N9 in particular as a feedback to make some new decisions. This has developed to be a sad underdog story, Microsoft engulfing Nokia... I´m a swede and will get the phone when it is released, but as a customer I benefit if Nokia does well, and is permitted to sell the N9 to EVERYONE who wants to buy it. It´s a bad bad move Nokia!

You can pre-order them on UK websites, while this is not directly 'launched in the UK' your article is wrong and misleading GSMArena, and it should be changed!

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2011Nokia continues to get EVERYTHING WRONG. Good luck for the... moreYou my friend have got it right. I have N900 and wanted a N9 slider. Nokia have had the last pound they are going to get from me. Looks like I'll have to wait for the galaxy 2 slider.

As you said Nokia are going to need all the luck they can get. Elop's done a great just at recking the share price. But who would want to buy them now with so much legacy product. I would not for sure.

So basically, Nokia is killing its own device by not releasing it in the main english speaking countries.

Ever since Nokia adopted MS, it spelled the end for any other OS used.

Will it support English at all? If so, I'm afraid any chance of getting this imported is gone.

Because Nokia is strong in Asia, so its there final love letter to loyal Nokia fans in Asia.

Nokia are done, simple as that.

They were afraid that the N9 would outsell WP7, and it would.

Think about this, this is a company that makes products and does not sell them to consumers who demand it, instead they try to sell you something else.

Such a company is finished. They clearly don't understand the market and their consumers.

I am not from the UK or the USA but already I can see a hole in Nokia's thinking there. Look at what Americans have done for Apple and their iPhone... leaving the Americans and the Britts out of the N9 market is plain silly.

                        Ahhh, you passionate Nokia people!
Unfortunately, and this is only the situation as how I see it... Nokia were and are in an impossible situation created by themselves...
They failed to innovate and found themselves at the back of the pack..
With phones like N95, etc. although great, they were uninspiring and plagued by software issues...
Then the landscape changed and people wanted apps..
And they did nothing to embrace or include themselves in that landscape...
Their music xpress range was uninspiring to say the least, and whilst all this was happening - iphone and android started to dominate...
I suspect Nokia didn't have a choice of who to get into bed with, and if they could only hurry up and design some amazing WM7 phones, they might be back on track...
But I think this downwards spiral will continue long into 2012...
I think you'll see Nokia bought out real soon and possibly even re-branded...
They need something to real kick them up the behind...
Maybe M$ are the people to do it...

Whats really stopping UK and the US from buying the N9 from overseas?? Nothing, so really whoever decided to not sell the N9 is really just wasting their own time.

is it really so hard to understand??microsoft isnt allowing them to release it in US and UK!
if people in US n Uk buy n9 they wont buy nokias wp7 devices..if n9 gets good amount of sales in US and Uk then nokia might change their mind about making wp7 phones!

I don't understand what the FUD is about.

Americans buy phones from carriers. the n9 lacks carrier support. The n9 won't sell in the US. Period

If you wan't it, get it online. A few thousand customers max aren't worth the cost of support.
