AnonD-505842, 20 Mar 2018Better than samsung's offeringEvery OEM is least interested to build a brand from entry-level to the flagship. We, consumers, are taken for granted but that's business and finally, there is a saturation in the market for these big players to introspect and become more consumer-driven rather than follow their own mindless innovation path (Notch and removing 3.5 mm jack)

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2018As always, very BEAUTIFUL.... but always FKING up the specs... moreWhere does it mention SD430?
SD450 is better but at the price, HTC is asking, Sorry! SD630 or SD636 much better choice. They should have launched this with updated and better internals but wait, aren't they doing this repeatedly now? HTC please keep these craps to save some money for your own survival!

I just wondering is 3.5mm jack next radio, I mean a thing, which OEM's will omit in flagships but keep in midrange.

One thing to add: the 12+ is listed as "Android 8.0 with HTC Sense", but the 12 is only listed as "Android with HTC Sense". Makes me think it's still on Nougat.

My wife loved her old Desire 820.
I just wish this phone was a little bit better specced.
A 600 series Qualcomm chip for a start.
The 720p actually doesn't bother me. It's enough for an undemanding phone.

Why on earth are they still throwing money away on low and mid-range. They were never competitive in these segments and those two devices they just released will not change that. HTC should seriously consider moving to the oneplus model with one flagship phone released every spring, followed up by a refresh in fall and that's it. Market share ? They are already a niche, so why bother... why not focus on the strenghts and release a great product in the form of the U12 or however they are going to call it.

As always, very BEAUTIFUL.... but always FKING up the specs....why 720p screens in 2018?? Snapdragon 430?? Even last year's snapdragon 630 would've been better! No fingerprint on the smaller version??
WTF HTC why u always disappoint

Pass. Same HTC bull crap as always. Value is non-existent here, same as it has always been for HTC pricing in the entry to mid-range.

That prices aren't attractive once you look at their specifications. HTC in free fall if they continue in this way.

A nice try from HTC, but
1 - They should've just made the Plus version the larger model. Maybe making it the more powerful one but the smaller not so much.
2 - I wish they've used SD630 for the Plus and SD450 for the basic.
3 - The Plus should've had FHD+, as HD+ will show some visible pixelations on such a large footprint. My friend has the Vivo V7+ and the HD+ resolution is noticeable even at a normal viewing distance.
4 - Both should have fingerprint scanners and not just the Plus model. You know, it is already a standard on phones, even Sony is now providing it on their lowest tier device of 2018 (so far).
