This could be great phone but this notch means no interest. Sorry, Huawei, maybe will see each other in next year when you will stop pretend to be crApple. Copying worst thing of iPhone is dumbest thing about all these huaweis, asuses, onepluses and other retards.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2018This sensor is not Sony's. Who makes it? Before this they use Sony sensors in their dual camera, but with Leica optics. Not sure about this P20.

I would like to see a company bring back stereoscopic camera set-ups.
It would be beneficial, as the wide angle camera would not have to go as wide, as it could use the sum of two cameras. (The resolution would be a combination of the sensors, that requiring less resolution on each sensor for a higher output resolution, and it would make the design of the lenses easier, as extreme wide angle lenses tend to have corner softness, and with two lenses, each could be made less wide, still cover a larger frame).
It could (in my opinion should) be combined with additional cameras closer to the center of the phone, for adding mid frame detail resolution (by using modules with higher levels of zoom). And for adding option of tele-modes.
The output could then be either stereoscopic (3D). Which is better, but would require the use of a 3d screen or VR/AR headset. (I expect that at some point in the future, most cameras will be stereoscopic).
Or the output could be a typical flat image, with the dual cameras only used to expand the frame and the resolution.
In a Huawei/Lecia, it would be nice to see all cameras in a Color + Black&White pair.

So, i can make a 40 MP image, and then i will scale it down to 1800X1200 to post it on Facebook.
Or you're expecting me to print it in 60X40 cm?

FABULOSO, 20 Mar 2018What's the point of a Fake notch if its only for a Camera?Because there's not yet a module that allows you projecting an image readout from under the screen. Tl;dr UD Camera. The day a UD Camera will exist, the notch will finally disappear.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2018It probably has very tiny pixels, like 0.8 micron or small... moreAs far as I know no image sensor with a smaller pixel pitch than 0.9 micrometer has ever been produced. With 0.9 micrometers the sensor would be larger than 1/2". If it really has 0.8 micrometer, then the sensor is larger than 1/2.5".
