The Leica camera sounds like a spiritual successor to the PureView cameras.

Finally some innovation. First we had the under display finger print sensor by vivo and now this. I wish other brands would also bring something fresh the the table as these two have done

AnonD-628531, 20 Mar 201812 + 12 + 16 = 40The math adds up. There's no way that behind that standard sized lens lies a sensor bigger than 1/2.3", and putting 40 mp on a sensor that size or lower (there are lines between the photosensors, that lines/photosensor area get bigger the smaller the photosites, so worse low light perfomance)... if you see the results of sony's 23 mp smartphone sensors, unless you only plan to take clear sky, midday shots...

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2018Samsung's implementation is usable, Sony's not.So I guess they deserve to be known as the pioneers of this tech in your logic. Take an ideea and make a small tweak then : voila! We invented it!!. I don't think you will be happy if someone takes your ideea, adds a tweak and clams is he's own, then gets full recognition.

Variable Aperture f1.6-2.4 (unless it's related to the dual lens used, which I frankly doubt) on the single sensor camera. If it does 960fps, it will could be the same sensor as the Sony XZ Premium phones. If it is, Huawei have improved low light by having a faster aperture.

Also, it has a 27mm to 80mm on the dual sensor camera, which is 2.96 times zoom. That may be the optical zoom. With the hybrid zoom, I guess it's closer to 5 times.

I think the whole 'out of the box' thinking is amazing. How well it really works, we should know soon enough.

I am also very curious to know the complete details about the 40MP sensor used.

                      VERY interesting cameras indeed.

yahooo. 40mp on f1.6, possibly hdr+ stacking, should be less noise and bright. last lumia was with f2.2 I think, and no stacking. This should also take care of low light zoom-in, maybe thats what they mean by hybrid zoom, this for color, tele lens for details.

Impressive hopefully the quality will be in another level compare to other flagship in 2018 but who knows I'll be eagerly waiting for the review and if you could test the camera in Germany just as you did with the mate 10 pro!

I'll take real world performance every day and the Neural Processing Unit of the 970 has the capability of making these much faster, especially when utilised by developers using the new APIs in 8.1.

Point in case is the AI scene recognition on the Mate 10, this takes milliseconds to happen unlike the LG V30S which takes 3-4 seconds due to reliance on CPU & GPU only.
