HTC had a bad Q4, but is looking forward to a better Q1 this year

26 March 2018
In the October-December quarter, revenue was flat and losses increased. HTC did set the stage for a better Q1, partially through a sale to Google.

AnonD-731363, 26 Mar 2018Man removing jack was and still is best idea. Its a stupi... moretalk some sense. Having a headphone jack is very important. some like you would go for a wireless headphone. no problem with that. but some still would like to connect a headphone with cable & there should be an option for that. go to all the poles. how many votes headphone jack gets and how many wants it removed. Be rationale. dont blindly follow what the companies do. most probably you are a 13 year old kid who have no slightest idea what convenience means.

AnonD-731363, 27 Mar 2018Man i have answer a couple of them but you wont hear anyway... moreTwo decades back, when jack was introduced, it was better than the one it replaced. This is what i am talking. Which better tech replaced the old jack? You are complaining abt cables, then are u okay with an additional dongle to go with the earphones? One more wire added to the list.

Jack is stupid gimmick and needs to be erased.
              Cables everywhere thats crap.
I am not saying wireless audio is better but if someone wants to listen to music do it at home where hes alone not disturbing others.
Jack is stuid phones are much more water resistant without jack.
              What good jack brings?
20 years ago there wasnt any jack and noone complains. Now most of the brands removing it and everybody complains why?
If they remove notch from Iphone and noone will copy Notch anymore do you think someone will complain?
              No they will not.
If samsung stops making curved screens also noone will complain because flat screen was always a better option.
I dont know what you want but i seriously dont care :-)

So you think wireless audio makes people aware of their surroundings? Tell me what exact benefits you got from a phone without jack? Tell me how the manufacturers utilised the space they saved by removing the jack? So u wanted to say removing the jack makes people stop listening music from their phones? In your dreams. Or you just avoiding my question? Because u dont have an answer.

                    Where is your problem?
Manufacturer is not responsible if you are clumsy and you break your earphones.
Jack is crap and is good hes gone.
Plenty of people everywhere hearing music and ignoring whole world around thats not very life saving especialy when they cross roads or tracks.
                    For what good is jack?
Hearing music so loud that it disturbs others around you?
Or make your brain feelig excruciating pain due to listening to the music really loud?
Jack si gone and is much better.
Soon no phone will have jack and i am happy for that.

Main reson for HTC's decline is really bad marketing- not enough spend, poor visuals, lousy design decisions and not enough spend.

HTC has been in decline for the last 10 ten years - I dont think they understand the handset or the tech product game. They innovate but it gets lost somewhere

I doubt they'll have a better Q1 if they don't bring back the 3'5 jack and also not overpricing their phones.

Please tell us what useful feature did HTC, Apple & co managed to put in a phone with the space saved from removing the headphone jack? Did phones became smaller? iPhone 8 & 8+ are still large phones, so are the pixels and htcs. Samsung has got all what the above phones have (an xtra spen also in note8’s case) and still got the jack. So what advantage they got? Tell us how exactly that saved space got used? Did Wireless audio playback became extraordinary overnight? You have to pay more than 500$ for a wireless headphone to sound equally good as 100-150$ wired headphone/earphone. See, removing headphone jack is space saving feature for your wallet, it just saves wallet space by prompting you to buy costly wireless headsets and clear your wallet of unwanted money. And it is great business opportunity for manufacturers to loot customers. And guys like you are prompting more and more OEMs to continue this unwanted trend.

I don't understand the fuzz about wireless charging, it's just useless.

It requires the back glass, and the phones more fragile and breakable, you cannot use your phone while charging, you have to buy expensive accessories, it charges super slowly, and it shortens battery's lifetime

                                      Talk about useless feature

We should buy HTC smartphones so we can Help The Company. :D
