HTC had a bad Q4, but is looking forward to a better Q1 this year

26 March 2018
In the October-December quarter, revenue was flat and losses increased. HTC did set the stage for a better Q1, partially through a sale to Google.

HTC, how far you have fallen. They really need to produce a proper flagship. Their imaging, as should be obvious from the U11 & Pixel 2, is tremendous. What should be obvious, is that an epic camera alone is not enough. The cameras need to be good, but then the rest of the boxes need ticking. LG made the mistake of getting most boxes ticked, but failing on the cameras and screen. HTC mad a glass backed device, with an ok screen, great camera, but hobbled it by missing wireless charging and headphone jack. Pixel had the same issues, plus a worse screen. The Pixel 2 was literally a great camera, with average, or below, other features. Consider, many people want a great camera on a phone, but you should not have to drop other features. So, the two best camera phones available, Pixel 2 & HTC U11, sold less combined, than the S8. Why? Because they ticked 1 box. Samsung ticked more.

I've got an idea as to how HTC could become much more competitive again. Bring back the headphone jack and admit they were wrong to remove it.

Sad but true, HTC is target to takeover.

Getting the U12+ on release day unless something undisclosed is going to come along.

They need to blow specs out of the water, keep it to one phone per year.

Definitely moving in the right direction.

Anyone who buys a Sammy or anything other than this HTC maybe the pixel or 1+6 is going to be disappointed.

This is the best device of 2018 hands down.
