Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones review

08 April 2018
Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones with Active Noise Canceling (Pure ANC) represent the peak of Beats consumer offerings. Now packing Apple's W1 chip, we've been using these for a while now to see how they perform.

Fearghast, 08 Apr 2018It uses AAC codec ... Apple does not even support any HD co... moreevery sony headphones out there are crippled by the likes of Audio technica, beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, B&O etc

atill better than Bose, they are very overpriced. Just buy a sennheiser, you don't have to worry further

Fearghast, 08 Apr 2018It uses AAC codec ... Apple does not even support any HD co... moreSony is definitely a step up, not because I'm saying this because I'm a Sony fanboy, but it's because they provide one of the most Hi-Res Audio earphones and headphones, a Hi-Res Audio or SABRE DAC have already become one of my top priorities when it comes to audio on both smartphones and earphones/headphones

Fearghast, 08 Apr 2018It uses AAC codec ... Apple does not even support any HD co... moreWell, i'm entirely not fan of wireless as it ditch under 20Hz sounds and goes mostly for active sound cancel instead of passive one. Found just one brand that use such but wireless being obsolete on freq. and bitrate stays. So called upscaling on wireless also wont bring lost data. Wonder who will dip into it, hopefully someone like sony soon... they ditched jack after all.

vrvly, 08 Apr 2018So not for true sound lovers. Didnt see bitrate even...noth... moreIt uses AAC codec ... Apple does not even support any HD codec. So if sound quality is priority, headphones and good sound, who would have guessed, you literary can't use Apple devices.
Not to mention AAC does have a higher latency then better Bluetooth codecs.
Right now I use Jays u-Jays and Sony 1000mx2 are on the way. Can't wait till tomorrow, when the package will arrive.
Jays are excelent for its price, but Sony should be a step up.

Already bought some good Sony headsets and getting some Bose as well (from the Huawei promotion so it's the bose quiet comfort 35 ii ones) but was tempted to get these to have a 3 way competition still (and there are 3 people in my house so we could all use one) but it doesn't sound like they'd really be the best choice and that we may as well pick up another bose / sony / other alternative.

Unfortunate really but I'm an android user as well so until Apple learns to work better with other devices and open up it's platform a bit more then being second or third rung in terms of quality and still higher end price is not the most attractive offer. Reminds me of those new smart speakers they released, I was willing to get one regardless if it was the best sound quality around and then those blind test videos showed they just had an overpriced speaker which wasn't beating the others on sound and wasn't the best digital assistant either. Another device for pure apple fans and a decent standard overall but still nothing special or worth getting realistically. You'd think at least outside of the laptops and phones they would try and make the typically more open products something that is attractive for everyone but they seem to lack the ability to make things couple well and work with other systems and to get the best products out as well so I really don't see why Apple is so popular.

AnonD-102477, 08 Apr 2018Seriously? Lol I bought sony WH1000XM2 because i thought i... moresony 1000xm2 one of the wordt looking headphones. And it's not traditional sonestyle. Looks cheap and ugly. Like all Beats models. And very overpriced as well. Both. Bose isn't the best in terms of design too. Just well known name. Sorry, guys.

I bought sony WH1000XM2 because i thought it was better looking than bose QC 35
Maybe when it comes to looks, it was subjective to prefer

The Bose qc35 ii is better looking, more comfortable & better sound quality.
The sony 1000xm2 offer the best sound quality, but look cheap & are not that comfortable.
Beats is 1 level below these 2 in everything & doesn't work as good on Android phones

it's more targeted to mainstream consumer, and seeing how big a chunk of that has an iphone will make it a great sell with w1 chip

I had been wondering why there were no beats products with Hi Res audio functionality, be it wired or wireless...
I don't believe that Apple has Hi Res audio codecs for its devices... but that shouldn't stop Beats from producing Hi Res audio devices right? I guess they don't think as much is ready for primetime, so they haven't yet marketed a pair of Hi res earphones, eadphones, or speakers so far. I believe that the Beats company will release Hi Res products... it's anybody's guess when.

So not for true sound lovers. Didnt see bitrate even...nothing to boast even for such offering...
