I shall say no because we already got gaming desktop and laptop running at core i7 8th with GTX1080 which is hundred times powerful than the SD 845. And what's the point of putting the camera on a gaming phone where gamers does not takes photos/vidoes.
Until today, I still own my Acer predator 300 running i7 7th Gen with GTX1060 at the reasonable price of $800 and it performed better than my Razer phone and the iPhone X.

Sadly mobile gaming sucks so hard thanks to freemium contents ads and robbery IAPs. Looking back at shadow fight 2, leo's fortune, monument valley 1&2, asphalt 7 heat,asphalt 6 adrenaline. The best games I have ever played on android.

what gaming could be on the phone, if almost all games for phones don't have an ending and are all the saaaame. the battle between consoles and PCs was about somethnig, but phone gaming is a lame

The amount of AAA games on mobile devices is... too low. Also, Any real gamer knows that a big screen is important, which is impossible in a phone for obvious reasons. And laptop gaming keeps getting better and better (hexacore i7, Max-Q, thin laptops and eGPUs). A good gaming laptop serves as much and even more
Also why everyone keeps saying 120GHz screens? There's absolutely no graphics card that can do 120GHz (okay maybe a Pxx GPU on Windows 2000 desktop). 120GHz= 120Hz× One BILLION.
It says a lot about the lack of knowledge and manipulation by companies, and a fake sense of expertise of some.
(Because you need higher FPS to make use of the higher refresh rate)

Not to tread on nintendos toes but yes a gaming phone needs to able to connect to a tv. So a docking station should come with the phone with this capability. But as far as the rest of the features as its been said all phones can "Game"
Making a gaming phone would be no different to making a camera phone. as all phones have cameras. well almost all.
Everyone is just playing around with the same ideas now. What about something new and original.... the next big this is....?????????

will gaming phones have a future? will the games even have? look at pirates masters of the sea look at starwars iron blockade anoat all terminated why they only want to milk the cash cow and fools pay and pay so much for a mere app that is not even a dedicated gaming pc game or nintendo gameboy or sony psp games true classics that no gaming phones can replace gaming phones go to hell and burn where they belong

Maybe a smartphone without camera etc and just the requirements for gaming, but why buy that if you can buy a multimedia smartphone flagship that can do all. Also yes for heavy use a liquid cooling system would be nice and larger battery, but just apply this on the flagships. No need for a special gaming category.

sad reality gaming phones have so much gold to be made but makers only keep around for so long the cutthroat pace of the phone industry makes a mere year old device obsolete how to play around with a gaming phone as long as a gaming pc can

an even more bleak future consumed by corporate greed gone were the days when people made games with passion and fun for the masses in mind, now all they ever do is to make people pay and pay more gamble away with casual trash in app stuff no wonder gaming pcs will always be better than gaming phones just look at the kind of people who play them so concerned only with profit no fun at all
