Android27, 23 Apr 2018Indeed, USB Type-C and... and True Dual-VoLTE would've turn... moreNot sure why Asus did not enable dual 4G VoLTE but it is possible via an OTA if the chipset supports it. Nokia 7 Plus got an OTA update to enable it on SD660(only chinese version till now), and since SD 636 is simply an underclocked 660 it should be able to get the same update on this phone as well as non-chinese RN5pro

they launched too late and the availability again is too late ,also people in india are not much fond of stock android, they want features like dual app ,app lock ,screen recorder etc built into their OS instead of installing third party apps ,they were so many of them requesting miui for Mi A1

To me the only things you said that are superior to the RN5Pro: Stock Android and promised updates, Speakers and camera.
I'll buy that Asus only if it's available or ship where I live, no brand loyalty...

Android27, 23 Apr 2018Indeed, USB Type-C and... and True Dual-VoLTE would've turn... moreFor it's price, it's already too good of a deal. What else do you want ? What extra does a Type C port even offer ? Nothing!
And why would anyone want to use two Jio sim at the same time. Really ?
And what are you even trying to say ? That those people who are using two sim at the moment in their phones, it that useless ?
Get a life dude. Don't be such a hater

USB Type C is nothing spectacular. A phone charges, no matter what the port is. Don't be such a sore hater.
And NFC is useless for the price range and people it is targeting. I have had always top end phones with NFC and not once i have use it.

Indeed, USB Type-C and... and True Dual-VoLTE would've turned it into an even better deal. The Snapdragon 636 supports it, like the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, so they could've enabled Dual-LTE on the M1 Pro.

So unless one uses the same 4G/3G setup that has been the norm for quite a while, that extra SIM slot isn't of much use, at least on the 4GB/64GB Variant. Unfortunately, running two JIO SIMs is still not possible, as per the presentation and initial reports.

                  No USB-C.. No NFC..

Surely very deliberate, tactical omissions by both Xiaomi on the RN 5 series and now by Asus on this phone.. I hope they sell rather poorly on the market and teach these companies a lesson!

Pure Android & 3 slots are brilliant, But dear God,,,it misses out on "USB C"!!

KartKN, 23 Apr 2018RN5Pro back has Sony IMX486(Premier sensor)+ Samsung sensor... moreSoftware optimization also matters apart from hardware specs. Pixel lineup does not come equipped with the best camera yet has comparable quality as more capable Samsung, Sony and Huawei hardware. I know Asus is not google but software tweeks could help.

KartKN, 23 Apr 2018RN5Pro back has Sony IMX486(Premier sensor)+ Samsung sensor... moreMan the on paper specs doesn't always matter. It's also about the software processing. There is a reason why Sony the parent company of these sensors produces phones with much worse of camera quality than say a Pixel event though they use their best sensors in the XZ series. Besides go check the YouTube videos. There r both proper review videos(iGyaan full review came out an hour ago) and even a camera comparison video. Both have nothing but good things to say about the M1 Pro camera and neither suggest it's any worse of than N5 Pro. And this is talking abt the inferior 4gb model with 13mp sensor. It remains to be seen how much better the 6gb version's 16mp sensor is.

                          Let me burst you lies.
                          1. Zenfone has Stock Android up to date 8.1 and Asus has promised updates to Android P and Android Q. You would be lucky to get even oreo on note 5 pro forget about P and Q.
                          2. Customer units of Zenfone will come with 20 watt charger. Go look up Asus announcement video. They have also claimed charge time to be 2 hrs 30 minutes.
                          3. There are already unboxing videos on YouTube. Speaker on Zenfone is extremely superior to Note 5 pro which has poor speaker.

Go, watch asus announcement video, your half lies will be busted.

                          2. Both have same bezels. Check out dimensions of both phones. Same size display in 99.9% same size body.
                          3. Zenfone will come with 6 gb ram version with 16 mpx back camera and 16 mpx front camera for 15k. That will absolutely kill your note 5 pro. And everyone knows Asus has better camera software processing than the crap one Xiaomi does.
                          4. Zenfone has metal body. Similar to your Redmi note 5 pro.

Stop your lies you Xiaomi fanboy. Reality is, Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro are killed now.

Athull, 23 Apr 2018How do u know the cameras r poor? Besides Asus has more or ... moreRN5Pro back has Sony IMX486(Premier sensor)+ Samsung sensor and at front it has sony IMX376 which is the same sensor used in back camera of one plus 5T. How about ASUS M1?

All Omni Vision sensors, more over RN5Pro has 1.25 µm sensor while Asus M1 has 1.15 sensor, so the more pixel size matters for observing more light to help in low-light photography.

Interestingly, this been Asus's most interesting phone in a while.

Besides Asus has more or atleast equal service centres in India compared to Xiaomi and the body is made of Aluminum. Despite the bigger battery it still weighs the same as N5Pro. So don't blindly bash a device for which u haven't even seen a review yet.

What are point to get this device over RN5Pro??
1.Stock Android (Not in Android one program)
2.Massive battery but same 10W charging support which found in RN5Pro (4K mAh takes 2.30hrs to charge at 10W charger, then think of 5K mAh batteries at 10W charger.. it'll take 3-3.45hrs to get fully charged)
3.Audio(They say it has some sort of amplifier but who know the difference of that)
                                  what else you have,
                                  1.same micro USB
                                  2.Bigger bazels than RN5Pro
3.Poor Camera(front & back), RN5pro will be killer in this spec
4.No Adequate service centres when compared to Redmi
                                  5.Polycarbonate chase
List will go long when we get to see the real device...
Just for 1000 INR, we can't lose such superb RN5Pro's best in class camera.
If Asus had an idea to offer VFM product, they could have given USB-C and Quick charge 3.0 for the same price of what RN5Pro is sold. Simply they're trying to hold market by saying Midrange killer.

If the price is correct, then I will buy it because it has very good specifications.

Zenfone 5 Lite + Max + Google Play Edition. Didn't think ASUS would regain some sense.

Why doesn't the U.S. market get phones like this?
