Apple likes to sue someone else who creat better products than their phone,pad such as Samsung, htc. Every phone and tablet look similar, this is no doubt. Poor Apple!!

I think this is all just a BIG PR STUNT.
Any publicity is good publicity...
Samsung makes many parts of the I Phone and many other Apple parts.
So its more like 2 big multinationals using public funds in a PR campaign through the courts.

The German court is either stupid or is being sold to iphone. Iphone will sue all smartphone makers for making calls, sending text, mailing, using Bluetooth, etc etc.
These are tactics used by iphone because they are not in a position to compete with Samsung.

The rectangular shape IS the only natural design, and the rectangular design was not invented by Apple, even every A4-paper is rectangular and many tablets before iPad was rectangular. Apple did not invent anything, but they proved that they are experts on advertising and making a brand popular!

[deleted post]Hopefully this will encourage more originality in the future, because Samsung has great tech. With great design, it would truly be respected in the industry. Kia has done so recently by coming up with not just beautiful, but original designs which are now actually putting them in the lead.

What made German court stop german ppl like want they want to buy. All is because of apple made what they wan public to buy , how to use and how court listen to them. prototype of most device already listed long before apple launch thier idoilpad2. And soon the patent regulation add more favour like protect the first product come out but not the first inventor will sign by obama soon. This is like protect apple steal invention and come out product on market first.

The above is from presiding Judge Johanna Brueckner-Hofman in her verdict.
Forget whether you think the tech world is lawsuit-happy. Forget whether you think this is a bad decision. Forget whether you think this is just Germany, and no other country will rule this way. Forget your Apple hate or Samsung/Android love. Forget all that.
Instead, remember the above quote.
It gets old seeing companies copy Apple so fully, and then claim they had no choice because there's no other way to make whatever it is they're making. Of course there is. We're not talking a single function like a volume switch or camera button, but rather an entire product. If Apple used that lazy cop-out, the iPad would have been built like previous Windows tablet designs and failed miserably.
What Apple did was rethink what a tablet could be, and so could anyone else if they choose. It may then be a success or failure, but it wouldn't be a copy.

They copied the RAZR, they copied Nokia slide phones, they copied the Palm Treo, they copied the iPhone, for over ten years all they've done is copy whatever is successful at the time.
It's about time someone stood up to them and put them in their place.

Please read up on the case, apple didn't sue based on just one patent, it was a whole list of patents that caused Samsung to have a similar 'look and feel'.
I am not saying Apple are right, but I would rather comment with knowledge.

The only problem with apple is that once it starts a project, it starts out with good ideas, and the newer projects will be based on the same concept even after ten years, while samsung it is a creative company but it does not allways know it's customer needs for example, when samsung did not copy apple it copied an idea that apple was using it from HP making significant innovation only at the first step of it's project and never continues the scond or third , then at the second Samsung thought "Hey this is a good idea all it needs is some etc etc etc" apple comes and claims that all of these ideas are only for apple.
