what i can't understand is dat....why...why u must do all of this, why go to so much trouble...they juss want money...i could understand if it was in the process of being made...but seriously it is already out....leave it alone..customers like both.....so wat if it looks slightly different, wat r u apple, like 4 yrs old...suck it up

Had it considered the Galaxy line-up unworthy of its attention, then Apple would still end up winning, simply because it's Apple. It's destroying itself wildly suing competitors, and the people - the fans - are noticing this self-induced downfall, and we're not liking it one bit.

If I can copy it and make it better too bad. It seems to me that apple is copying android. notification bar, multitasking, WiFi hot spot, and soon to come widgets and live wallpaper. But that's just me.

I disagree with you.
There is certain level of corruption everywhere in the world - some countries have more, some less. Patent wars are very common - the very nature of a patent is to protect a company's innovation from simply being copied. Companies invest billions of dollars in R&D and product development, and they will only survive if a certain return can be achieved. The law is designed to protect companies.
It is how you play the game. The German law is very complex and probably ideal for such games. If you have a great lawyer, they'll find loopholes in everything. You just have to dare to invest in such a risky affair, as you can see there is a reputation at stake and money to be lost. If you succeed however, your reward is phenomenal.

I don't completely agree with the ruling myself, but for those who really want a Galaxy Tab - eBay.
In a way, this should spur Samsung to think outside the box. Many manufacturers have copied Apple's ideas and improved them - that is a fact, and normal market behaviour. It can't be denied that Apple wasn't the first to produce a smartphone either, Windows Mobile and HTC did way before them - but Apple perfected it. So in all fairness, HTC and Windows missed their chance in the first place.
Since the iPhone, the mobile phone world has changed, and Apple is doing all it can to remain exclusive. That's a perfectly normal business strategy.
This happens all the time, so the ball is now in Samsung's court to be the innovator.

Phones can be square, circle, and hexagonal, but what a company wants is a satisfied user. That's not gonna happen until Apple realizes it's mistakes. I hope Tim Cook stops this.
