You cant fool fingerprint but you can fool face ID.

Google achieved this with the 2MP front cameras back in 2011 with Android 4.0 ICS
The blink feature was added later, yet none of the OEMs really promoted this feature.
And a couple years later the iPhone 5S came out, and fingerprint readers became the most trusted way for mobile security. Now Apple rolls backwards to facial recognition, and all the Android OEMs are following-suit. Looks like there's very little innovation besides ZTE's front-speakers and Xiaomi's borderless displays. Everything else is a "me too".

Well, what did you expect?
It's already stated in the Warning/Notes that Face Unlock is less secure than fingerprint and other biometrics. Face Unlock is for convenience purposes.
Even Apple's Face ID is nowhere as secure as Fingerprint and Iris scans. This had been proven since twins and even children managed to bypass it. On the other hand, twins don't even have the same fingerprints and Iris patterns.
All current phone biometrics can be bypassed and fooled. Iris scanners and Fingerprint scanners have been fooled. Fooling them, however, takes a lot of effort which is inconvenient, hence the "secure" thing. Security is not about infallability but difficulty in fooling and bypassing it.

I tried to unlock my brothers one plus 6 using face unlock. when he was sleeping....and it worked. I thought it wont work as his eyes were closed.

1 Find someone with One Plus 6.
2. Before you approach him, take a picture of him with your existing smartphone.
3. Grab his phone, RUN like crazy!
4. Unlock his phone using your existing smartphone gallery.
5. Profit!
Better stick with just fingerprints for now, One Plus users!

I tried doing the same in my one plus 6.. It didn't work ..:) I closed my eyes and tried to unlock it and asked my friends whether its open or not..but failed.. when i opened and check the same.. it worked.. Now wondering who is fooling whom:)

That's why every phone alerts you that face unlock is less secure than PINS, passwords, patterns, and fingerprint scanner.
I don't use this feature anyway. :)

You also have to get accurate measurements for the depths of the face since our faces isn't 2D
Face ID is way more secure than Android"s basic face unlock
