OnePlus 6's face unlock gets fooled by a photo

The camera-only face unlock was never meant to be secure, but this one seems easier to fool than even the one on the OnePlus 5T.

All Android face unlock is unsafe and can be spoofed hence Apple using dot projection and time of flight sensors and it being more secure than fingerprint. It's more a gimmick to make customers feel they're getting the same features. Use fingerprint or pin codes, if face unlock is that important get a iPhone X.

The new algorithm may be get fooled but my oneplus 5 algorithm doesn't unlock by photo

That guy in the end was like "You see..😬"

Don't rise, people in the same thread are saying that they are unable to unlock it using their photographs in their OnePlus 5t's

Artificial Intelligence at its finest. op6 knows its your photo so it unlocks try with somebody else photo!

                weak!!!

I mean, what did people expect? It only takes a picture of your face and stores it in the phone

Not secure at all. It's more like for convenience

I thought this was known from day 1, as it does not have depth sensing? The good thing is that Androids have not *removed* fingerprint scanners. In fact, Vivo and others are moving towards incorporating fingerprint readers in the screen itself.

Facial profiles/contours, in any case, are too public to be used for authentication.
