AnonD-252, 23 Sep 2011iPhone-users have invested so much money on apps and games ... more"iPhone-users have invested so much money on apps and games that they simply cannot afford moving to Android or any other platform and then have to buy all the same apps and games again!"
That's the thing, if i move for another platform i can't buy those apps/games why i like iPhone. Most of them aren't available for any other platform (mostly musical stuff). Most expensive app cost me $14.99 and it's the killer app for me which i'm not going to abandon. Luckily i don't see any reason to chance away from iPhone so don't need to worry to lose that app.

Apple is spending a lot in just one model and launch's one in a year or two.... where as all the different companies announces 3 to 10 models every month half of them don't even come to the market.... the money spent in 2 worthless models can be used for 1 good model phone.... technology it cheap just if u spend once in the right place...

So many people are trying to read into this more than that is there. It doesn't mean that a whopping 11 percent are switching to Android. It means that 11% are clearly undecided or have made a decision to switch to one of the many other phones out there, not necessarily Android. However 89% is a huge retention rate, no matter how you slice it. Having no other brands even come close is quite scary for Android makers. This means that there is no brand loyalty amongst them at all!!! So one year you could be using a Samsung and the next year an HTC. This is the same problem with Windows PCs... users don't usually feel any sort of loyalty toward one brand or another, just as long as its windows.
However if you do wish to read into it... if 11% are switching away from the iPhone... how many of the other whopping numbers moving away from these other brands - are switching to the iPhone? Think about it.

its got nothing to do with app purchases. Most people dont use app/games they brought 6 months ago ect. The reason for apple retaining most of there customer is down to the userability and smoothness which andriod still cannot compete with. Most people in the phone market dont need there phone to do everything, they need it to call txt use the internet and apps and that is why in the mass market apple comes out on top! Dont get me wrong andrios is a great platform and i use both but for user friendliness you cant beat iOS and most people are extremely technically advances and apple combats this by making thier smartphone extremily user friendly

vinz, 23 Sep 2011sony ericsson is nowhere to be found...SE needs to revamp their portfolio with the lost glory, otherwise, they would be nowhere near with their "All Style" stupid phones for infants...
it is not surprising if you see where the survey was conducted.. USA, UK , France, Germany has a lot of iphone users... Nokia has a huge market in SE asia.. Samsung has its own share of market in NE Asia and Americas... so it all depends where the survey is done..... these numbers at the end doesn't portray the true story. but gives a hint..only..

This study is made to make a better image to the next ipoone, that might not come with anything surprising. FACE IT! APPLE is going down. I am an android user, used to have 4 iphones before from the 2g to the 4g,they are too strict and the experiance in android is better and I m sure that all the brands that make this software are stronger financially and intelectually that apple.

I am one of the 11 percentage wich will NEVER touch again an apple product as long it will have so many limitations and absurd operation mode. After i buyed it i was going mad what a mistake i did. I was lucky that my icrap4 i owned have a real big 2nd hand market of loosers wich want to show off with an iphone and i sell it easy and very quick. It was a big relief for me. Icrap experience was for me like atomic bomb: NEVER EVER AGAIN

What this study shows is that the majority of people aren't pros in Mobile phones, they like playing games and just use what they have for themselves without being able to share it with others (over bluetooth), I have an iPhone 4 as a present from my sis as she was told that they'll buy for her the new iPhone, and I have the Nokia E72 as my primary phone, I don't use my iPhone for games so that's why I will go for the white Nokia E6 as the new phone which really gives freedom in every way (especially changing the battery), I really tried hard to love the iPhone because of the push notification which doesn't drain the battery much
2- browsing the internet (Safari)
3- using the copy/paste option nearly everywhere and some other things that isn't coming in mind, but the way that I can't transfer via bluetooth (even when jailbreaking and using an app, it wasn't able to transfer anything to my E72) and being able to change my battery... well this is the rest of the list:
3- Can't use Java apps that uses sms to verify your information and that's the main reason, I don't buy an Android cause of this disadvantage, I use more than one Bank Java app nearly everyday which helps big time
4- Can't dial as quick as my E72
5- Using the copy/paste easily like the E72 with the Ctrl button (like any PC)
6- I was surprised that there isn't any place to hold a key ring in the iPhone, but since you HAVE to use a case cover for the black iPhone 4 due to the antenna, I use the case to hold the key ring, but for the E6 I won't even put any case, I love using a phone without any case whatsoever
I don't want to remember every disadvantage now, but when I use both the iPhone 4 and E72 I sometimes realize another disadvantage in the iPhone which I can't bear with, and lately I see my self that I'm an iPhone hater cause whatever comment was in GsmArena blog which was against iPhone, I was just pressing the "like" button very happily :D.
So for soon and beyond I'll stick with an E6 and maybe forever.
Just for your information, I have 2 kids which I bought an iPad 2 for them cause they really love playing games on it and 1 of the iPad 2 was lost so I bought another one, so if it's about playing games I hardly recommend an iPhone or an iPad (I haven't seen an Android tablet for games though).
