AnonD-252, 23 Sep 2011iPhone-users have invested so much money on apps and games ... moreComon, this is not a reason, how much an app cost you, 1 to 5$, if someone want to change am sure they'll change even if they already bought a bunch of apps, it's not only about this I think.

Am not apple phone nor use iPhone, but I ask my friends who uses the iPhone, they say it's the best, but they didn't try anything.

But for example on computer world I use apple, there quality is excellent on Computers, and I have tried windows, linux.

Linux is great, but apple is also amazing with support!

losing 11 % Iphone users is alot of people. It means that like 15 million iPhone users are fed up and going Android. Next year antother 20 % will leave.

Do those 89% have another choice? ha ha ha... they are stuck with apple, if they move to another brand, they'll lose all of money spent on expensive games, softwares, covers, etc.

iPhone-users have invested so much money on apps and games that they simply cannot afford moving to Android or any other platform and then have to buy all the same apps and games again! The whole reason for app-Store is to prevent iPhone-buyers to ever be able to afford to leave Apple!
It is the same for me, I have invested too much money on apps and games for Android that I simply cannot afford to buy them all again if I leave Android, but as an Android-user I have a lot more choices and I am free to choose any of the many phones that use Android, and that is the reason why Samsung...-users feel less lojal to Samsung because they actually have many other compaines to choose between and still be able to keep their Android-apps if they choose a phone from LG or HTC or...
It is actually a bad thing that iPhone-users simply do not have any alternative at all, and must stay with Apple for life!

The Android manufacturers' figures are skewed down because Android users can easily switch between HTC, Samsung, Motorola, SE etc.

Apple has the iOS ecosystem all to itself.

The more accurate comparision is Apple's 89% versus Android's 60%.

Everything else is inferior and they've probably bought into the ecosystem. Why would they switch?

Android still can't compare to iOS' user experience and smoothness.

Well what do you expect, Apple has a grea ecosystem. I don't see why any american born into the ios/mac world would want to switch over. similarly, any one born into the world of real pc's and actual smartphones would be disgusted by ios products. i could never use an i phone and i can understand why an ios user won't consider a switch.

Its surprising nokia has a 22% retention rate in the US for that matter. Thats impressive for a troubled company in a transition with clear path and no flagship.

                                      Seems logical:
                                      1) People usually don't like changes
                                      2) Apple is awesome
                                      3) FIRST!
