Most of the apps are in c++ in windows & unix (including apple's mac which is unix too) because simply offers you full control of what you are doing.

                  LMFAO...

This handset will be getting updates long after your crappy sgs2 has either fallen apart or been abandoned by samsung (which is only 12 months by the way).

AnonD-1124, 28 Sep 2011Of course it can only run html 5 in its browser. Same goes ... moreWhy not? all u have to do is to create Html5 emulator to run those app in your os. Android are doing this for their app code on java

If you think ios or windows phone would allow apps written in Html 5 outside the web browser then u must be delusional.

Mobile is not like the desktop market. Window is like almost 85% of the world marketshare. In the mobile you have many os. Its take more time to port app to platform to platform but with HTML5 it can change. Qt has some c++ on it that its own by microsoft that why nokia took the microsoft way because its will be easy to port app from qt to c++. But for a developper with all those os you need standard like the micro usb standard.

Interesting read on the shift to Tizen. Html5 is indeed necoming popular and it is the right shift. I'll have to see more on Tizen before I say yay or nay. I'm all for the shift as long as Samsung builds the Tizen phones with quality materials and not that plastic they use. I have heard that their construction quality has gotten better though.

Samsung has turned around and shown people that they will support their devices after the Behold 2 incident so hopefully they Fully support Tizen. Intel FTW!

[deleted post]only nokia (and some developers of mobile apps) are using qt in mobile area. but it is also used for desktop apps (a lot) and with a little effort those apps can be ported to mobile devices (even to ios if apple will bother to put the required libraries there), so that's why I'm saying you're wrong when you say "is dead". it is one of the easiest mode to make an application for a whole bunch of platforms.

dany, 28 Sep 2011lol. I'm wondering how many of those who speak about html5 ... morelook only nokia are using Qt and when their gonna move to wp7 its will be dead. C++ is by far better than QT. Just like you said Htlml5 is standard tool and much better if you want to make app and be able to port it to every platform with no stress or you will be required to code the app to c++, qt, java etc....... it take more time. Why we can't have a standard for creating app for every platform? That s what htlm5 bring to every Corporation STANDARD and no one own HTML5.

only the sales result will determine if nokia wll continue to support this phone. nokia knows a lot of people are reluctant to buy this phone because of what their big boss said. nokia market share plunge when elop said they were moving to windows and nokia are afraid same thing will happen to this phone.
