How w... moreThere is not one phone with a sealed battery out there not even the iPhone,it's just not easily user removable.You have to go to some service centre or any other general repair shop and get a professional to replace it.Not a big deal since non iPhone batteries are cheap and the official service centre repair guy doesn't charge.
Or if you want to then you can buy some tools and do it your self with easily available tutorials on YouTube.

Been doing it for years. Also if a battery degrades so much within 3 years than it was a rubbish phone to begin with so avoid it.

It might be the first 9-camera phone, but u wouldn't get my hopes up on the quality of such sensors or other included hardware

Light L16 camera is quite bad. Not even top smartphone quality. DSLR-like? It's ridiculous and fake.

How will you manage to use any of those phones nowadays with sealed batteries for 5 years or even just 4 years when the battery start fooling after a year and a half and dies totally after 2 years or a little more. At least if the batteries went back to being removable, then you won't have to worry.

Light's L16 never actually matched DSLR performance, DR and noise-wise it was more in solid m43 territory(which these days are being slowly consumed by the best 1"-ers) and still produced much smearing and many merge artifacts deemed unacceptable for professional use; but if those artifacts come from a phone oriented to amateurs like the P20P, it'll probably go unnoticed and net a 140 or so on the similarly amateur-oriented DxO and some amateurs will go crazy over it.

SH.T, 01 Jul 2018in second part I am not with you, problem of DOF is a probl... moreIts optic and camera algorithms problem. dslr can make nice blurred backgrounds and focus on close objects because of its optic. In other hand we have modern software and technologies that are capable of doing fake bokeh efekt with just one lense and few millisecond of chip work.
Now we have technology to cramp amazing optic in to the mobile device mix that with proper sensor or even two sensors(eg wider lense) and you will get perfect shoots. No need for 1000 lenses.

Simple physics (as we know it) prevent us from improving much on single lens camera with a small depth. (There is a reason for the ugly protrusions you know...). Lookup Rayleigh Scattering. There simply is a limit to how small each pixel sensor can get for a given aperture, due to the quantum nature of a phton.
Sure it LOOKS like a weird monster, but who cares if the images are great? Does anyone really think a DSLR looks aesthetically pleasing? We just got used to them...
And there is a point in NOT placing the units in 'nice' symmetric arrangements - as would have pleased our eyes more.
Current smartphones try to compensate for the shortcomings in poor light by shooting a bunch of images in short succession and blend them together, but this method obviously have issues with moving subjects. And they try to 'calculate' these issues away, and though this often works, it far from always does.
So the idea of multiple synchronized cameras in some sort of layout, is the right one to get better images in slim devices Many companies have realised this and uses more than one unit Today,

It might give 64MP images but it looks crap... Too many lens to protect. And in my opinion looks very ugly.

I don't know if anyone really would happy with nine lenses, too much to protect, too much to clean, too much to be beautiful, too much use of power , too much volume consumption, I assume two or three will be ready all the times and extras will hold under a cover for certain situations thickening the phone in two forms eventually. one reason is there would be no room for other components anymore so they have to bump the size, other one for covering up lenses.

Maybe the PC era of Multi processor is coming near in smartphone.
A heat dissipation pipes are good for a dedicated processor for imaging and a proper SoC for other tasks.
One sits up and the other sits down the board.

To be expected, with 9 times the sensor area... And they do that with Color sensors, not sure what other brand do the same, maybe only huawei when you zoom in.
