KamAbdi, 12 Jul 2018Well your talking about 3GB of Ram not 4GB of Ram so I unde... moreThat's just a reply to the other guy.

And mainly, I'm just here to remind other people, to give them a head up when considering of buying any xperia phone, more ram is always better cause it is more future proof.

It isn't like storage where you could add a SD card to increase the it or ( have your photos, videos etc move to the external storage so that you have more space to the cache files, and more space somewhat help xperia phone to perform better). The lack of RAM in xperia phones are critical.

But, considering it is 2018 already and I believe Sony wouldn't be that stupid to release any phones that have lower than 4GB of RAM. So I guess there's less to worry at of now when buying a xperia phone.

I don't believe this phone will sell well, unless you absolutely need a large screen, probably XZ1 now has the best C/P ratio.

Just a question with the way sony uses their fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device. Is their fingerprint sensor able to do other functions/gestures besides for just unlocking the device? Can the fingerprint reader be used for locking apps?
              Thanks

73RR4N, 11 Jul 2018Budget chipset, no stereospeakers, relatively large bezels,... moreI think sony did not send you a personal massage to buy this phone if you don't like it just move on

FromChinaWithLove, 12 Jul 2018It is funny how 90% of people who reply to me are always me... moreWell your talking about 3GB of Ram not 4GB of Ram so I understand your point but how does it relates to this phone? Because this phone comes with 4 and 6 GB of Ram

FromChinaWithLove, 12 Jul 2018Well, if the SD chip are as good as they say they are, then... moreNO, The SD is good, it's up to 400 GB. The RAM is good whether is 4 or 6, Yes the 32 is good if your doing games and putting crazy things because when I bought Xperia Z, the phone had 16GB and 2GB of Ram. I have it for 5 years but now the memory became full but it's acceptable because it's 5 years. I used to play and download apps but didn't record videos or take pictures but I downloaded a lot of the multimedia and still the pictures and videos are in my phone since the day I bought the phone

True more Ram makes smoother but 4 is good and 6 is better
True but the 3GB of Ram wasn't enough and that's why Sony in later years did 4 GB and it took a long time because 4GB Ram was good and enough until this year
Well I didn't know Sony removed that feature but let me tell you something, today's Sony's smartphones are better than their predecessors even if you have 32 GB and 4 GB of Ram

KamAbdi, 12 Jul 2018This phones comes both 64 GB of ROM 6 GB of Ram and 32 GB o... moreWell, if the SD chip are as good as they say they are, then it is the RAM that needs to put in check when considering buying a xperia phone.
And, unless you're crazy about shooting HD videos and keeping it on your or download a lot of HD games, otherwise 32GB of storage is fine. But a extra GB of RAM really does help the phone to run better and smoother for daily driver.

The xperia with 3GB of ram does slow down if you're running game like lineage 2 or anything similar to that kind of games ( with game running on hi set and not even the highest quality, the RAM show it taken up to 2.xx. ).

Guess what, the latest update from Sony remove the function for user to check out any details on RAM and how much it take up while running just the phone and or running any game)!

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2018XA2 with 3GB can do better multitasking than G6+ with 4GB..... moreIt is funny how 90% of people who reply to me are always mentioned the Chinese phone and brand within their comments like that somehow correlation to it or something! ( I know them as much as like of you, from tech site and YouTube videos).

As someone who use xperia for all these years, from xperia Z1s to Z3 and now the XZ, all I can say is that the RAM is the biggest problem in xperia.
I don't know what game you are playing, but if you are playing games like Candy crush or anything similar. Then maybe you should try some of the Korean mobile games, and then you'll see that 3GB of RAM isn't enough even for a late 2016 flagship phone like xperia XZ. Both high temperature and low RAM management issue would cost a great performance drop or lag to the phone ( or freeze the game to a point where you have to restart the phone). (But, then again, most of Western games from the play store are fine tho, cause they don't really need a lot to run.)

Unless you don't any game ( or at least not graphics intense one ) you would have no problem with the phone having just 3GB of RAM. Otherwise, you will experience lag and performance slow down from time to time during daily use. During a hot day( like the 100 ℉ or higher like that last couple days, xperia phone will heat up itself like crazy unless you are in a place where AC is strong).

"Pricing is yet to be confirmed" ... lol .. its a unworthy sony product which again will be priced like diamonds .. It would be somewhere around $550 to $600 ... when they can price stupid products like XZ2 premium at $999

AnonD-454049, 11 Jul 2018I know they want to charge extra because of brand tax but t... moreBut AFAIK, SD660 should been graced to the successor of now-defunct Xperia X Series if Sony still continue production of it. But because they discontinued Premium Standard segment due lower expectations, so there are no more Sony Xperia powered by higher S600 series or even S700 series . Just to let you know, Xperia XA series always been on par of the lower mid-range Snapdragon 600 series or Mid-range MediaTek Helio P Series, upgraded from lower S400 series and lower MediaTek chipset since M4 Aqua and C4, tho C4 doesn't use Helio P Series as Helio P Series wasn't announce at that time yet, still MT6752 was a midrange chipset when it was launched (M4A : S615 ; C4 : MT6752). If Sony upgraded XA2+ to S660, it could led to confusion as I had stated earlier, tho I could have them used Snapdragon 636, and need to be par with their other siblings thar powered by S630 back in CES 2018 . For the price tho, Xperia XA2+ should be between XA2 and XA2U launch price as last year XA1+ priced between XA1 and XA1U. There's a chance could be higher tho than XA2U's at $440, but lower than $500. Just saying tho.

My old xperia with 3GB can handle all apps I have witjout reloading. Games dont even use 400MB of ram.

Chinese phones boost RAM since 2015 because the local version ( chinese UI without google stuff) is poorly done. Apps easily crash and reload.. Adds pop up many times during day...

These were words from a chinese user that told me this here last year.

Why did they have to make it so ugly? They had already ditched that abominable Lumia design, why does it rise from the dead now?
