Well and now we know why android phones dominates over crapple.
Noone is interested waiting ages untill battery is fully charged.
And it depletes really fast because even a 1500 craphone have only 2700 mAh battery which is good for nothing.

Here I can find offerings for Nokia 8 at ~277$ and the free return is available for 30 days. I personally wouldn't buy a phone which I cannot repair in the warranty period at an authorized service.

Neither. I would prefer an option "C" which is better battery care tech. Something that extends the life cycle of your battery and retains its capacity for longer.

Fast charging is already fast enough for most needs. Any faster that you might as well have exploding phones due to excessive current, or shorter battery lifespan. 10W chargers for phones are already more than enough. If your phone already has something like a 3500-4000MaH battery and you need to charge it more than once a day, there's something obviously wrong with you and your need to stare at your phone screen for more than 8 hours a day (obvious sign of smartphone addiction).

The 1 year warranty would still be applicable as long as there's an authorised service center for the product but for Xiaomi there isn't. Only Samsung, Sony and Lenovo has service centers here (near my place). So I'm on my own after 7 days when buying Xiaomi but I still buy it because it offers bang for the buck.
HMD's Nokia were somehow advertising in our city but I'm not buying them, their specs with respect to their price is abysmal. The Nokia 7 4/64GB is on par or rather below the performance of my Mi5 3/64GB that I bought more that a year ago (and I'm still using now) and the Mi5 has a much lower price back then. Their Nokia 7 Plus with SD660 (midrange chipset) has higher price than a Xiaomi Mi6 with SD835 (flagship chipset). My point was that even if Nokia has made a very nice phone, their target price points were abysmal as compared to the competition.

But from a normal shop with legal warranty. I here buy with my eyes closed as the standard warranty will cover 2 years and the extra (~10% higher price) warranty will give 2 more years. I never "test extensively for 7 days" to see what happens...

I'll stick with the trio Huawei Oppo Vivo since they're the first to amaze me with really fast charging without the phone heating up badly...

Also, I'll prefer to have the superiority over the other common brands whose users tend to be bias and always condemning users of Chinese brands smartphone, by using specs and gimmicks feature to make themselves feel on top... Meh... These group of people should also just stick to their adaptors and the wall and learn to read labels of their products to see where they're made at...

I was enamored for a long time with my Moto X Style's 25W charger. It was stronger and faster than anything else. It would be enough to plug it in for just 15 minutes and get significant chunk of battery juice. But after half a year of use the battery started geting weaker and weaker so i had to charge my phone two times a day. SOT dropped from 4.5-5 hours to 2.5-3. I guess i prefer slower charging with battery longevity after all.

Current "fast speed" charging ruin battery as fast as it charge, any phone that often use fast charging after just year of usage have battery that is in the same state as 3 years old one.
And you cant hide it behind fancy advertising, because you cant just break law of physic and chemical properties of materials used in batteries. This is how it work: fast charging=fast battery damages.
Its visible especially on phones of users that charge it from 5-10% and never actually charge it fully, their phones are always at 40-70% and they charge it often but in short time ruining battery even more.

Best part is that for good past 20 years we had lots of new battery technologies and improvements of existing ones(by using different materials) but none of companies want to invest in it because they already have contracts/fabrics that produce those old li-ion/poly batteries, even if those new ones with some investment could double or event triple life of batteries. As always its proof that user is not important, money are, even if investing money on it would bring profits after some time...

I'm fine with current situation quite frankly. QuickCharge is fast enough and I can charge it with anything. And even there, it gets charged plenty fast. Using old Nokia's 2.1A charger at work and it does the job. At home I'm using Xiaomi's QC charger. I only charge up to 80% anyway so it's faster coz I basically skip the slow final stage of 10-20% at the end...

Android should enforce USB PD, so that all devices will be compatible. On top of that, if any proprietary solution is needed, allow it.

But then, some jerks at EU might see it as a way of enforcing things by Google....

proprietary is a cancer like apple who reaps the consumers which is a bad choice

I was gonna (almost) install Shopee due to its popularity.

Geric.770, 23 Jul 2018Oh great! One question: My only problem is buying it onlin... moreI can only recommend Lazada due to the fact that Lazada is a company and will be the one to take care of you when something happens with the item within 7 to 14 days guaranteed replacement upon receiving of the item. Shopee on the other hand is just a middleman, the settlement will happen between you and the seller which is cumbersome because you need to talk to the seller directly before you can make a refund, both of you should agree which mostly results to heated arguments.
Iloilo doesn't have Xiaomi support either. So after 7 days, you're on your own. What I can tell you is how to buy Xiaomi Products:
                                      1. Ask if the bootloader is unlocked, If not, don't buy the phone because OTA updates will brick it.
                                      2. If the seller lies about #1 then upon receiving, test the product, check if it's bootloader is locked if not, file a return within 7 days and tell Lazada that the seller has lied to you.
                                      3. Only buy Global ROM.
                                      4. Test them extensively within 7 days.
                                      5. Don't buy from online stores when in a hurry, expect +15 days delay when buying an item with Lithium batteries inside to be delivered to Visayas.

I still used my Mi5 3/64GB bought from Lazada, its 1 year and a half now and only bought it for 11,400+Php because I got lucky to have a 500Php coupon.

DroidBoye, 23 Jul 2018Well you need to find the right brand for that, which is mo... moreOh great!

P.S. Bohol doesn't have any Xiaomi support!
