[deleted post]You were giving your opinion as well , just that you weren't detailing how I was wrong.
And you got your facts wrong even though you keep saying you're right.

I was only trying to offer my opinion, instead someone seems to think they know me better than I know myself, I am willing to admit I am wrong if someone with better photographic background than myself can show evidence that aperture has a direct affect on the field of view.
I have always worked with the assumption field of view is affected by different zoom types, ie going from wide, normal, zoom and telephoto....along with going from cropped, less cropped and full frame sensors, ie amount of subject matter within the frame

I also always worked to the assumption that aperture mainly has an affect on the amount of light entering the sensor, and the depth of field, ie what's in and out of focus within the captured frame.

Again if I am out of date with my information and newer tech , especially with camera phones that throws this theory out of the window then I will admit I am wrong.
But only when there is actual evidence to prove it, not just someone saying you're wrong but not backing up that comment with proof or knowledge

Anyway getting back to the original subject , I think if Sony placed the lens more central or at least along the halfway line it would hopefully allow for a slightly larger sensor , if enough work was done to make sure things like battery or other such things were directly located behind the sensor housing .
A big enough sensor , 1inch or even slightly larger, the same that's in a semi pro compact like the canon and nikon professional compact series, not too high on the pixel count so the sensor isn't over crowded and the photosites are large enough to offer superior light gathering capabilities, dual pixel focusing, a build in ND filter like canon did on one of their pro sumer cameras and Nokia did on the n8 or 808 , I can't remember which.

Manual control of noise reduction instead of system controlled, so you can turn noise reduction off totally, I'd rather have noisey and slightly more detail captured and preserved than smudgy patches where noise reduction has killed the fine details in green foliage or grass blades, I've noticed in quite a few phone cameras , green is smudged to hell more than most colours

[deleted post]How have I given false information or spoken of what I don't know about ? You're the one who thinks field of view is affected by fstops , so again it is you that doesn't know what they are talking about.

So again you haven't called me out, you only 2 of your replies were at my messages, the first being you telling me to use my brain, which isn't calling out , you didn't state any actual facts where I was wrong , you didn't in to detail how you thought you were right , (which you're not)
My first comment to you was just asking you in which way did you mean fast lens as I didn't get your point, some people called fast lenses fast for their correct meaning which is fstops and others call lenses fast due to their seed of action between focus points.

In your initial fast lens comment you didn't mention you were comparing prices yet when you told me to use my brain you mentioned prices being expensive, you can get a semi modern DSLR which is fast enough with enough gimmicks on it and a 50mm 1.8 canon lens , lens costs less than £120 and if you get the classic plastic construction 50mm 1.8 you can get it for less than £100.

I actually wasn't being off with anyone I was just getting a gauge of where people were coming from for their photography/phone needs, until you seem to be off towards anyone who has a different and more precise opinion to you.

Again you didn't call me out , I do know what I am talking about as I've used a wide range of photographic gear over many years spanning more than just the generic Nikon and Canon range, I've covered Motorsport events , studio work, nature and landscape shots, none using fully automatic and none where I've blindly used a device without knowing the fov affect from the different zoom types and sensor sizes .

You also said I was in denial , why am I in denial ?
And 99% of people on here are like me, so you know what you're talking about and everyone doesn't ??

You don't understand fov and dof so why comment on photography stuff

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2018Pretty much every commentyour're the one who said "half the time a faster and expensive lens on a dslr has a more limited fov"

which is wrong the fov is affected when using different zoom lengths and using different sized sensors, the only thing really affected by a fast dslr lens fully wide open , ie not stopped down is the dof or depth of field.....you didn't call me out at all, you gave false facts.

fov is different to dof, I know because I've used fast primes on my cropped and slightly less cropped sensors along with a borrowed full frame sensor.

the only two comments you replied to of mine didn't show you calling me out, learn what calling someone out means before you use it, and also work out how to form a sentence because your replies to me make absolutely no sense at all

Those fast lenses are built... morethe limited fov is also affected by the sensor size Mr angry,a 50mm 1.8 on a cropped aps sensor is different when you attach to a camera with full frame, and I did use my brain, I wouldn't class a lens on a phone anywhere comparable to a real camera lens.

                                    I prefer quality over gimmick
