Want to see also monochrome output from camera, without color deformations because of bayer simulating 12mp. That 48mp B&W should make building's patterns and grass field lovely... Same for stars, but for that sony needs to add longer exposure than funny 1 sec. Long exposure + hi res and output is great even in night. Then it can be called pro camera.

I think Sony raised their camera game even more in the smartphone business after their camera division bought Toshiba. Remember that the Lumia 1020 for example had a Toshiba camera paired with Zeiss lenses.

Even other manufacturer uses their lenses, what they need is to enhance their software (in the smartphone) to make it more great. On the other hand, Sony cameras, like the real professional cameras, are killers. That's why Sony is on top of the line on par with Canon. With those flagship mirrorless such as A9 and A7 R3, I'm sure they have the capability, just need that capability to be in the smartphone department.

aye, 25 Jul 2018not really being a programmer. just write a codes into it t... moreTele lens are bad in low light and such sensors helps to capture better. Of course if its about "normal fov" most important is processing(like stacking /denoise /sharpening on one sensor, AI aided scene recognition, separate superior ISP) using multiple sensors and new sensor tech - to counter limits of phone thickness and what small phone camera can do(quad bayer, monochrome, triple stacked sensor, color balance sensor, tele sensor, different aperture -though samsung can do it with one camera, I would prefer less moving parts so it last longer).
If you count how many sensors and sw tricks helps like in p20pro, its way beyond most full sized cameras, and it helps a lot, even if output is not always ideal as its quite new. Not using multiple sensors is impossible and certain death, maybe only if someone came with sensor tech thats 10 years ahead of dslr or different phone sensors. Ask for impossible in this copy-age.

Well they can put even 60 but compared to proper DSL camera it will be huge crap.
Proper camera will always win compared to any mobile phone.
Customers pay more for better camera but still any photo will looks ugly compared to proper DSLR like for example Nikon D3400 or better.

naap51d, 25 Jul 201848MP, what a joke. 99% of the time, the ONLY real good hav... moreBecause no one wants to buy a phone thicker than 1cm but they all want to bitch about camera performance. Thicker phones would also improve the grip as there would be no empty space between griping surfaces on the fingers and thumb rest area. More friction on the palm is good to prevent slipping. But yeah, people would rather have long, thin phones that slip and can't package additional hardware.
