In couple of years 4gb will be just not enough, to future proof your phone you need minimum 6gb or beat 8gb.

Slowly it looks like pixel series approaching epic failure. 4gb rams, 1 camera, generic looks and will be charged as top class phone, looks like to get HTC engeneers, which are from struggling company wasn't the best idea :)

I'd rename the post into something "Too little, too late". There are heaps of high end phones with the same specs, better price, better features and design right now. Actually, I can't find no single reason to swap my Galaxy S9 over it. Slightly better camera isn't good enough buying point. On the S9 side are all features and modern smartphone technologies available right now. Just name it and you'll get it in there. Also S9 can be bought in my country for US$600 in used, near new condition with some warranty left right now. The cheapest Pixel 3 will be over US$900 for sure.

Its a well know fact that the people in China love higher numbers on a phone. That's why we had 10 cores that fast.
And unless you, OEM, modify the behavior of the GC, it will no matter if you have 8GB or RAM as eventually, the app will be purged from RAM even if its not needed.
Or, on the other side, if you are like Huawei, your apps will be closed sooner thanks to their "battery optimized" crap.
