Is there a case for phone cases?

A case always makes your phone bulkier and less comfortable. Needing a case means that the phone is not thought-out well. That it is slippery or fragile. Of course you need a case if your phone has a glass back. Glass backs are cancer.
I had to use a case with LG G6 and Xiaomi Mi 5s. Now I use Xperia XZ2 Compact that is not slippery or fragile, so it doesn't need a case. I like having a phone that is made with an actual user in mind.

    I have a huawei p9 plus and I use case only when I go at work. When I,m home or somewhere else I let the phone shine in the light :)

      it depends on the case (some are quite beautiful) and if you value the money you spend for it. Personally, I have an Xperia Z5 and I think its the best looking phone. I love its raised edges and the classy look it has. But I want to keep it this way so I got an action looking red case that adds to my overall red details look from head to toe. So im fine both ways.
      If I go for free running then the case is a must. If I go for work and stuff I mostly take it without Its case.

      Of course, a case is a better choice no matter. Because you will regret it, when its too late..

        The old days of my nokias yes it was ok but now the my smart phones I can not have the phone without a case.
        Recent mobile is a note 8 and I have the led view case from Samsung.
        I have seen people with naked phone drop them and it's all over for them but I have dropped mine countless test and the case has taken most of the force and m phone is intact.

          I use my phone case primarily to fix horrible ergonomics of my razor-thin phone. With a rubber case phone is thicker, edges are rounder and whole assembly is less slippery than naked brushed metal phone (glass is even worse). Of course I would prefer not to waste money and precious internal phone volume on redundant rubber and would like to have a phone with better ergonomics off the shelf. Something like flagship Motorola phones a few years back - with better than average batteries and kevlar / nylon backside. Or something similar - grippy back, rounded edges that prevent touches, huge battery. But of course we just can't have nice things, right? :)

            My phone has metal unibody, if I put in the case, I would lost the feel, the metal has.
            Hell no.
            Dropped a few times, got tiny scratches, nothing more.

              I have the LG G6 wich is by itself rugged and durable but it doesnt make invincible. I still bought the case because i dont want to pay for screen repair and also if I want to sell it in the future I want the phone to be in almost perfect shape so cases arent so bad !

                Until phone companies realise and take cue from thr likes of Motorola x force to build rugged flagships which also look good cases will always be needed. Consumers will spend thr extra money on a rugged version if they're not keeneto use cases, i certainly would but theres no rugged iPhone, Pixel or Samsung flagships yet

                  And when finally you pay $1000 for the look, you put the phone in a case, and you lost all the look. So, why did you pay $1000?

                    When people buy phones they cannot afford to drop/damage/trash, they buy phone cases which make phones look unappealing. Buy what you can afford, people! Buy. What. You. Can. Afford.

                    If you protect your $1000 phone with a case, you do not own said phone - it owns you. You are better off getting a $500 phone which you can use in all its glory, without a case.
                    If you protect your $500 phone with a case, you are better off with a $250 phone without a horrendous case slapped on to it.
                    If you protect even your $250 phone with such thing as a case, you surely did not make the best decision in buying that phone. What you really need is a cheap $100 phone.
                    And if you would so much think of protecting a $100 phone with cases, then, what is left is for you to get a feature phone made entirely out of plastic, for $10-$99. As easy as that!
                    Stop buying the thing you think you want, when you should be buying the things you need.

                    That is why you do not see Ferrari owners protecting their cars with bubble wrap when they hit the road. They just enjoy the car and know that getting pain scratches from rubble or a crack in the windshield is something which is a normal “risk” to take and they are prepared to pay for a new windshield, a new paintjob, new tyres, etc.

                    And then there are people who cover their sofas in plastic wrap, keep the tv remote in plastic wrap as well, and then they put cases on their phones too.

                    Whenever I see someone with a phone case, I know that that person does not make good money and/or life decisions and should not be trusted to do a good job or make any decisions. And this is why some people are followers (because they cannot make good decisions on their own) and some people are leaders (because they can make the decisions for those who are unable to do so).

                      P.S: I also use a tempered glass for screen protection.

                        My last phone, LG G2, had no protective case, no protective film. When I dropped it about a week after purchase, my heart skipped a beat. Luckily, it didn't get destroyed right away, only got a tiny scratch. Over the years (2.5 years, to be precise) of careful usage and a couple of small drops it did get a few nasty scratches over the glass, most are invisible right in front but if you look at a certain angle, you can see them.

                        My new phone, SGS7, was in a UAG urban armor case from day 1, with a protective film on top. It didn't bother me much when it fell from 1.5m table down on on granite floor, and it didn't have any damage (this, too, happened around 1 week after purchase). My wife has identical phone in a differently colored case and hers practically jumped out of her hands today on rather rough concrete ground. Not a scratch, thanks to same case. I also love huge tactile buttons, but the case itself is a) expensive and b) bulky. They saved both of our phones several times now, saving more money than they cost (if you could screen and glass replacement prices). But if possible, I'd love my next purchase without one - they're kind of too big.

                        So, for my next purchase I'd like to try something like Samsung's Active series device (which are, sadly, not available in my country). Same hardware, smaller footprint, body works as a case by itself so you don't need a separate case. And you get a bigger battery as a bonus!

                        As for "thin and glass" design most companies became obsessed with - I'd rather skip it. Glass backs make phones slippery and thin devices are harder to use because they're harder to hold. I'd rather have polycarbonate or resin-like body surface, slightly thicker body with a bigger battery and better heat dissipation. I wouldn't mind some small bezels, completely bezel-free phones are harder to use with a case because it gets in the way (especially in portrait mode), or simply doesn't protect the phone from that side. And my fingers tend to touch the screen at the edges, driving apps crazy (zooming or rotating instead of moving around the map), which makes me hold it less tight around edges, which makes it easier to drop.

                        In short: I love protective cases, but would prefer flagship phone which was built into a case, like Samsung's Active series (which are not available in my country). I don't want to pay premium for budget hardware built into a huge box, like other "durable" Samsung phones.

                            I don't like cases but that's the only way to protect my phone

                              Phones without cases are why there are so many phone repair stores. Its like insurance. I've dropped my phone plenty of times and never even had it scratched. If someone doesn't like how my phone looks I don't care its not their phone. I've also seen nice wallet type cases but for larger phones it doesn't work well.

                                Aluminum phones are uncomfortably slippery without a thin silicone case, so for me it's a must.

                                    My current Note 8 has a case but that's only. because its extremely slippy and I want it to look good when I sell it in a few months time.
                                    All my previous phones never had cases (LG G5, Note 4, Galaxy S5) but they all eventually fell to pieces through being dropped hundreds of times.
                                    It you keep your phone in its own pocket without loose change and car keys scratching it, it should stand up well with glass front and back.

                                        Won't even think about buying any phone if I can't get the cover for it,I like my phones looking Pristine..a scratch up rough looking phone is an eyesore.
